My father was on the phone with me the other night and he gt short of breath and was really hurting he says the pain doubles him over and almost takes him to the floor?
He has has many test ran and there is nothing that the Dr. Can see. Obviouseally there is something. He thinks it's a pinched nerve in his lower back because he has has a lower disk problem for a long time. The pain he saidis a piercing front to back in the lower ab to pelvic area? when he is active up and down stairs during the day he is fine but the pain is when he is relaxing in the evening? Anyone have or know of anything simular that has gone through simular pains? Worried about him.

What can I do next?

My husband has something very similar to that and he was diagnosed with pluersitis and now takes a prescription of meloxicon which is an anti-flammatory. Pluersitis was described to us as such: The tissue that lines the lungs and ribs becomes filled with fluid and that leads to an infection. My husband had x-rays done of his entire chest- make sure the doctor does that before dismissing your fathers pain. I know my husband was in extreme pain- mainly at night, and this sounds all to familiar. Hope this helps.

Sounds silly but it sounds like gas! Gas-X works great! Maybe that's why the Drs didn't find anything. Have him try the medicine and see how he feels. Good Luck!

I had the same problem when I threw out my back 2 yrs ago. They sent me for MRI's CAT's the whole nine yards and nothing was working. I went to my mom's chiropractor and he took an x-ray and told me the problem. It turned out that I have scoliosis and it's so advanced that my bottom disc is too thin and my sciatic nerve running down my right leg keeps getting pinched. After a few visits to the chiropractor I felt much better. I hope every thing is ok and ya'll are in my prayers.

It wouldn't be a pinched nerve if the pain is starting in his front. It could be anything from simply bad gas to his appendix. Sorry if what I say seems gross but I'm looking at this from a medical aspect (I used to work in a hospital). When was the last time he took a good number 2? If it's been a while he might want to consider sever gas or constipation. If this is the case, then tell him to drink plenty of water and he might want to increase his fiber intake. Or take a natural stool softener that you can get at Walmart. You didn't say what kind of test they ran but they should have ran a urine sample for kidney and bladder infection and a blood test for his appendix. And an ultra sound would look for gall stones and kidney stones. If all of this comes up with nothing then he might want to get his prostate checked since that is also located near the bladder.

I would definitely have him go back to his Dr since the pain is making it hard for him to breath and he is doubling over if it isn't a BM issue.

Good luck to both of you!!
