I have a good friend who has used neurofeedback for depression and improving concentration and focus throughout her busy day. Her son has had remarkable improvement with OCD using neurofeedback.

There are some great books out there addressing the specific use of EEG biofeedback for ADD/ADHD. Some families who require long term NFB therapy actually get training and purchase the equipment and computer w/ programming. The total cost for the equipment may be as low as 6,000.00. Some centers will give you free training and ahve you pay for them to direct you and monitor achievements. Google neurofeedback for ADD and ADHD. You will also find video clips.

Dr Lenny Fly is a great promotor of NFB. Here are some web sites to check out. Use the directory to find practices that offer NFB. Do your research and then ask lots of questions before making a decision as to where you want to have treatment. Keep us posted. God bless!

www.eegspectrum.com has more info on neaurofeedback, too.

Yes, A., my 10yo son is going through this right now. He is ADHD and doing neurofeedback therapy. I love the fact that Mind and Motion (aka Psychological Sciences Institute where we go) does not promote meds. I love that they encourage proper nutrition too and can even do metal testing if you like. (I agree with Mimi too..it can help out a lot.)

We have gone through 17 sessions now. It's twice a week and I have noticed a difference, as well as they have too. He just recently did another test (after 16 sessions) to see how he is doing and he has already dramatically improved. I notice this anyway because I homeschool and he is actually able to get a lot more done now.

He will still eventually do other kinds of therapy there as well like Metronome therapy and Cognitive and Behavior therapy, but I chose the Neurofeedback first because I needed for his brain to get back functioning as a 'normal' brain would.

It's neat how he can play a game using his brain and if he loses focus the game stops or halts and will resume once he regains focus. He was watching a movie at some sessions..Milo and Otis and although it took several sessions to get through it, he was getting better and better each session to where the TV didn't black out on him from lack of focus.

You can email me privately if you would like to ask more questions.

Hi A.,
I have talked with people that have used neurofeedback therapy, also neuromuscular therapy. We have helped so many people (including my 2 year old daughter), with issues like ADD/ADHD and Autism with alternatives, like nutrition (NOT diet), NUTRITION. If you are interested in the information, call me at ###-###-#### - Or let me know a time to reach you and I can call you.

Have a great day!

Hi A.,

I'll start by telling you I don't know enough about neurofeedback therapy to give an opinion so if you don't want to read further, that's fine :) I did want to ask if you have detoxed your house or your little one's body? My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD (she was absolutely exhausting for me!)and when we detoxed the house and removed the chemical stimuli her behavior changed almost immediately. Her immune system has strenghtened and she doesn't have problems when exposed outside of the home now. The doctor removed the diagnosis and we have had no problems since then.

It's a simple thing to do and it can be inexpensive. If it doesn't work, the worst thing that can happen is you make your family healthier...

God bless,

M.
