I had the experience of having the state in my life for two years and it was a living hell. I had to prove to them that I loved my children more than I loved myself.

Hello T.,

Have you heard of NAMI? National Alliance for Mental Illness
This organization is incredible...The classes and support groups that they offer are all free. NAMI has brought myself and family alot of comfort during difficult times.(I have a 24yr. brother with mental illness living with me) They have classes and suport groups for both family and consumer. If you call their office in St. Louis they are able to help you with almost any referral that you might need.
Best of Luck,
C.

Hey T.,
I really don't have the most popular advice that everyone suddenly listens to, but mine comes from the heart and is honestly lifesaving. Pray. I'll pray too. You are not alone. I promise tonight before i go to sleep, i'll pray for you. God has a plan and it's up to us if we want to be apart of it. I know he loves you and he wants to help. He's always there in your time of need. Hope this will help! :)

Hi T.,
My name is V. Rilea and I am a pastor in Canton Ill. I also head a women's group called Women of Righteous Destiny,a group to help with with ALL issues of life, physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual. we come together and pray, talk, cry, laugh share our thoughts and hurts, joys and sorrows. I have never lost any children to the state, but thru divorce I certainly lost control of my life. Only Jesus was able to help me to get back on track and refocus and regain. I would be more than willing to help you, talk with you, share with you, and mostly listen to your heart. I hope to hear from you. God Bless you.

I am a mother of two- my son is 8, and my daughter is 14. I have struggled with depression all of my life. I am 42 years old and have only been on anti-depression meds for 2 1/2 years. Prozac has helped me a lot to feel better, have more energy and to be more patient and less frustrated with ny kids. I have the state in my life in that I receive monetary support (food stamps, Medicaid). I have never lost custody of my kids, but there was a time, due to my depression, that I wanted to end my life. I haven't felt that way since I asked "God" for help. I didn't even know if there was a God or what God was, but I knew that I needed help and I didn't know what else to do. I have to tell you, as bizarre as it sounds, it worked! Since then (10 years ago) my life has gotten better over time.I'm in college working on a degree which is funded through a Vocational Rehabilitation scholarship. You might want to check it out, it's in the phonebook under "V". Anyway, I have to go. I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you're not alone, and things can get better for you if you believe they can. I believe they can. Maggie
