Has Anyone Had an HSG

I am having an HSG done on Friday, and wanted to see if any mom's have had one done. From everything I have been reading it can clear blockages in some cases and you are more fertile than usual for the next 3 months following the procedure. Has anyone experienced this? Did you get pregnant right after your HSG?

What can I do next?

I had one after Mirena, and I didn't get pregnant right afterward - but I didn't have any blockages either.

They just fill your uterus and do an ultrasound. I guess I can see how that might help with blockages if you had them.

I had one when we were trying to get pregnant with our daughter. It was not until a year or so later that I actually got pregnant. All I remember is the pressure I felt during it. It can be uncomfortable and not fun. At least it doesn't take a really long time!

Must've cleared me right out because I was pregant the same month! It is a little uncomfortable, but no big deal. Good luck!

Mine was uncomfortable.. I am not going to say it wasn't.. however, I did get pregnant the next month and I clearly say it was because my tubes had been flushed out.. sadly that sweet baby m/c... but I did great pg after I had been trying and trying..

Best of luck to you!

I've had two. I had nothing more then a bit of cramping.

After my second I got pregnant immediately! I literally ovulated 2 days later and we caught the egg! This is after 3 failed cycles of injectibles/IUI.

Yes, I have had one as well -- to confirm there was no blockage after having an etopic pregnancy. I think the shear thought of what they are doing is what is more uncomfortable than the actual procedure itself. Its slightly uncomfortable, but not has bad as to be expected given what they are doing. I had a very nuturing nurse assist in the procedure and that really helped get over what was happening. And yes, I too got pregnant very shortly thereafter -- I had no blockage, but it seems with such procedure you tend to be a bit on the more fertile side after such. Best of luck, and hang in there....its over within 5-10 minutes.

Hi E.,
I had this procedure done after a miscarriage just b/c it is an easy procedure to make sure there isn't anything obviously wrong. It was a little uncomfortable but not really painful. I didn't have anything wrong, thankfully, but we waited a little while to try again. We got pregnant the first month we really started trying.
A lot of people I knew told me that they had great luck getting pregnant right away, so maybe you'll be one of those! I hope there isn't anything wrong and maybe this will be the trick for you!
