Great Wolf Lodge - What Did You Think?

We have some friends coming into town in July for 10 days that have 2 kids, ages 6 and 9. They are both VERY active kids. (In a good outdoors kind of way, not a nuts out of control way.)

Along with some other fun stuff for both the adults and the kids, we were thinking of spending the night at Great Wolf Lodge and doing the whole water park thing. Ok... so we have a little girl who will be almost 16 months old who LOVES LOVES the water, so I am guessing she will enjoy it as well.

Have you been to the Great Wolf Lodge? Any advice, thoughts, suggestion?

Thanks in Advance!

We went with the entire family for New Year's Eve and know a lot of people that have been. It will be great for the older kids. Lots of things to do and get the energy out. Since it's only open to those staying there, it's not that crowded and pretty safe.

My daughter was 14 mos. at the time, so she went in the water for a bit, but then we just hung out by the chairs and went up to the room to nap. Best for the big kids.

We were just there last week with out 3 y/o son. We loved it and highly recommend it. We stayed 2 nights, but 1 night would be plenty to do all the waterpark stuff. It is very family friendly and accomodating. They have lifejackets for the little ones and there is plenty for kids of all ages. There was a fridge and microwave in the room so I brought breakfast and lunch foods as the food was over-priced we thought. We got the kids kamp room and it was great for our son to have his own little area. It would be a great little get away for yall and your friends. Have fun!

Hi D.,

I have not stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge but I have been there a couple of times to scope it out. I think this would be a fabulous choice for all involved. Have fun!

We went a couple of weekends ago and we have a 3 year old. It was fun I don't know if it is worth the money though. It is basically an indoor NRH20. If you huys do decide to go I would go during the week so it is not so crowded.

My best friend is having her daughter's 15th birthday there. To give you an idea of cost, the room is $275 for a Thursday night. That includes admission to the water park for 4 people. Anyone over 2 yrs old pays $40.00 per person to enter water park. The person registered to the room must buy your water park tickets and there is a limit on how many more you can purchase.
Also, a little while back there was a thing on the news where a pedophile was fondling children in the pool.
Not saying it is a bad place due to that!!! Just giving you the facts!

I haven't been myself, but I had a friend that took her 2 kids for a night and they loved it. She said it was fun, but expensive. It is like any other water park where nothing is included. You have to pay for floats, drinks, food, lockers, etc.

I have not been there, but it seems to me that especially in the summer, it would not be worth the cost. It is VERY expensive and there are lots of great outdoor water parks in the area that would be just as much fun. I could see going in the winter, when the outdoor parks are not available, then it would be a novelty. So, unless you just don't want to be outside, I would save the money and go to Hawaiian Falls or NRH20.

I went with an 18 month old. The only thing that they can do inside is the kiddie area (squirt people, shallow water, short slides into the water) and the very beginning of the wave pool where it is shallow. Everything else is for about 5 year olds and up, and there are different height requirements for the various big slides. I'm not sure about the outside stuff because we stayed inside.

It is expensive, but you only need one night! Ask when you can get in (I think it is 11 am - even if your room is not ready yet, you can go to the water park part.) And you get to stay all day the next day (just check out and put your stuff in the car). They also have an arcade and story time at night. I did not think that the restaurants were good (and too expensive), so order your own pizza or go out of the hotel to eat dinner. Rooms come with a microwave and fridge, so you can bring plenty of snacks.
