Oakhill, Oakleaf, or Whistlestop! My boys go to Whistle stop and I LOVE IT.

If there is a waiting list at any of them CRY!!!!!! Especially if you really need in for work reasons.

Hi N. -

I have two children that attend Oakleaf Learning Center. It is a wonderful school. They have a nice playground, movie theater, puppet stage, cafeteria, and strong management.

You may be under the belief that a school this great would be costly, however, my husband and I were surprised to learn that it was just $5 dollars more than the daycare up the street that offered inefficient management, staff, and no amenities except video games and listening to inappropriate radio stations.

The also have a private kindergarten if you would want your child to continue there until you have researched a good elementary school. Garland does have Freedom of Choice for school selection.

I second Oakhill. My daughter has been going there for three weeks now and loves it-we moved her there because she was constantly sick all the time at her last daycare and didn't seem really happy there. We have been sickness free since we started, she's really taking off developmentally, and she's much happier. Good luck!

My son has been going to Oakhill on Brand in N. Garland for a little over a year now. He loves going everyday, and usually whines when I pick him up LOL. He has learned alot there in just the year he has been there, and will start Kindergarten this fall, and will attend after school. Another recommendation is Whistle Stop, they have a location in Richardson & Rowlett. I toured the Richardson one, and it was really nice, although they had a waiting list at the time for 4 yr olds. They are also currently building a N. Garland Primrose, behind Texas Roadhouse at N. Garland/190, around the corner from Oakhill. Probably be done something this year or early next.
