I use Pampers normally. Up til now, they've worked great. My son is 3 months old and pretty much sleeping through the night, so hasn't been getting diaper changes in the middle of the night either. He's a tummy sleeper, and lately the diapers have been leaking and making a huge mess all over his tummy. It can't be comfotable or good for him. What kinds of diapers to you use that last through the night with out leaking? Any sugestions to keep him dry at night? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Everyone has their own favorite I guess. Fisher Price came out with diapers about a year ago and I love them! I used to swear by Pampers, but now only use these. Plus, the large boxes come with day and night diapers. My 11-month-old never leaks.
Good luck!

Huggies makes an overnight diaper. Stores don't usually carry the smaller sizes. I found some for my little girl online.

You have to find the diapers that are the best fit for your son, and at night try going up a size. We found an awesome diaper made by first quality- cuties diapers. They are the ONLY diapers my daughter doesn't soak through at night.

Hi.. we use target up and up (store brand) diapers. I kid you not, I WISH we did it fromt he start. We have saved a ridiculous amount of money and the only time it leaked was when my son loosened his diaper without my knowledge:) In short,., I actually think they are as good even better than the way more expensive pampers. I was so leery of trying them b/c of possible leaks since they were cheap but no- they rule! GL

Hi J.,
When my daughter went through the "overnight leaking" stage, we went to two diapers on her. One on her bottom (the normal way) and a second on top of that one, but facing backwards (so the velcro attachments were on her bottom). It worked like a charm!
Good Luck!

How funny- Bridgette, all my friends are opposite-all moms of boys swear on Pampers cruisers and girls love Huggies! Anyway, any time my sons started leaking pee or poop, I automatically put them up a size and it almost always took care of the problem (ignore the weight on diaper packages-it isn't usually right-by 6 mos, my kids were in 3s, 4s and even 5s depending on the brand and yes, I felt like they were covered to their armpits and some other moms laughed at me, it was worth the reduction in laundry.) Currently, I use Luvs because I don't like all the potential problems with chemical burns/rashes from the new Pampers dry max because my kids have very sensitive skin, but norally I would be using Pampers (though I save a tons on Luvs). Hope this helps!

You should really be careful! Babies 3 mos old should be sleeping on their backs. Sleeping on their tummies increases the SIDS risk substantially!

Try a bigger size. Or, I use huggies overnight diapers and they are GREAT!! Pampers also makes an overnight, but they are not as good in my opinion. The sides tear easily and my daughter has "lost" the diaper into her jammies twice which completely makes it counterproductive. lol.

I had total luck with the Pampers (the Swaddlers one (Crusisers when she gets older), not Baby Dry) brand. For night time, I placed the 'next size up' on my little one. So if she wore a 4 during the day, I used a 5 at night. It may seem a little big on the torso, but all that space is great! For us it worked really well. Oh yeah, for your son remember to point down. :-)

As far as the tummy sleeping, once they start learning to rollover as mine did at 3-months, all the back sleeping will be out the window and I think they naturally prefer to be on their tummies. We asked our pediatrician back then at her 3-month check-up and was told that once she could roll by herself, there is not a whole lot we can do to prevent it. Make sure to talk to your pediatrician about it at your 3-month check-up.

Check out this link on the same diaper question. Lots of good info and the Mom replied/updated stating what worked.

Since every baby is different, I would reccomend buying the smallest package of each brand and seeing what works best.

With my daughter I switched back and forth between brands a few times as she grew and started moving more.

Good luck!

When I first had my baby, I used Huggies thinking they were the best but they leaked all the time. Maybe it was how her bottom was and it wasn't compatible but she would poop out of them no matter what size or how I diapered her. I ended up using White Cloud or Dry bottoms from Walmart and have loved them with the rest of her diaper time and the next 4 kids! We have saved so much money and they don't leak. Just don't write off the no name brands, I find that they are made from some of the same name brands and then marketed with the store brand on them. Good luck.

When changing, point your son's winkie down to avoid most top-leaking (my son is notorious!) and make the closure as tight as possible -- won't hurt him as it's padded elastic. I use Parents' Choice from Walmart (best generic -- tried Target's, Costco's, Kroger's, and good as Huggies, Pampers & Luvs for my kids anyway) but use one size larger for naps and evening. You can also double-diaper for naps and evening as my sitter does:)

A bigger size. I like Pampers, but White Cloud and Luvs do just as good and are much cheaper. Point downwards, and/or go up a size and you should be just fine.

Hi J. - I found that pampers were too low-cut for my son to wear through the night. They always leaked in the front too. We switched over to the normal huggies and went up a size. The normal huggies fit higher up the belly and they lasted through the night.

I don't use disposables, so can't suggest there, but just wanted to make sure that you are pointing him downwards.

Have you tried going to the best biggest size?

Diapers are such a personal opinion-based purchase. We were diaper snobs with our first child. Only Pampers Swaddlers/Huggies Supreme.

With our second, it was Huggies originals from Costco, Target brand, and Luvs. Each child is different based upon frequency and volume.

We've stuck with Huggies original and Kirkland brand from Costco for price and overall satisfaction. Our daughter is almost 2.5, and we really don't have any complaints.

Good luck!
