I'm in the market for a great double stroller that doen't cost too much, is light weight, and folds compactly. There are some at babie's r us, but I'm not crazy about them. I found some online but I can't test them out. If anyone has some suggestions an a good stroller please let me know.

What can I do next?

As far as I am concerned all double strollers are terrible. They have their pros and cons. However, the lightest one that I used was the Baby Trend Caravan Swan Lite. I had bought it at The Right Start which is no longer in Braintree. You may be able to get a used one on ebay or craigslist. I just sold mine. I did a lot of searching for lightweight strollers and this was the best one I could find. I hope this helps you.

check handi-me down shops. i found a nice one for $50 last summer for my 2.5 yr old & his friend who was just under a yr old. i like the older ones better then the new ones...the seats are bigger & the stroller seems more durable. baby trend is a good one. peg perego is also another great one but a bit more money. there is a used kids shop in manchester called lots for tots. they had a peg p. double for like 60 bucks. its used but still has lots of life in it. there is also one in nashua called mother & child..they halways have good stuff there too. one other place is burlington coat factory. they have a lot of diffrent kinds of strollers more then babies r us does. good luck C.

Hi! I go the Joovie Caboose from Babies R us which is a stroller for an infant and a toddler and can hold a car seat.An infant sitting in the front (or a car seat) and a toddler then can sit and also stand in the back. Good for children with an age difference of a few years. Other than the fact that it has no cap holders( I bought one) it's great to push and it fits in the back of my mini van. I wouldn't call it compact but it does fold! And the car seat attchement/tray works well with the growing infant. I think it's about $150.00

I bought one online from Babyage.com (I think thats what it was) the brand is Maclern, anyway it is a side by side umbrella style stroller that reclines and is perfect for two little ones. The only problem is the price, it was around $200, but it was the only kind that was sturdy and fit in the trunk of my small car. My son was about 3 months old when I put him in it the first time, and he loved it. I still use it for my now 2 and 4 year olds.
I don't recomment that Jeep stroller that they have at Babies R Us (it's the same style but very flimsy, and it's not much cheeper).

(I would go to Tiny Tot Land in Manchester and see what they have then look online at Amazon or some other site to find the one you want at a better price--thats how I found this one)

Good luck

Light weight doubles, lol, I am not sure they even exist! My son was 25 months when my daughter was born. We originally bought a Graco double. Not lightweight, but it did fold up well. In any case I hated it. I ended up selling it a month or two later. My son was getting to the age where he didn't want to sit down, and he could undo his belt and stand up. It was a mess. I ended up getting a Sit and Stand. Definately not lightweight, and is large to fold. But I loved it. The back portion could be used as a stand, or a seat. We used it for about a year and a half. You should look into the reviews on Amazon. They are from real users, so they are not skewed :)

C. have you checked out the strollers on Amazon.com? Even if that is not where you would plan on buying from what I do is look up the items on that site and read what people have to say about them. I have done this with several items and it seems to work pretty well. Some of the descriptions also show the weight of the stroller.

Hey C.! Is this you? It's Steph! I've been looking for a double stroller too. I'm not crazy about the ones at babies r us either. I found one in the one step ahead catalog that doesn't seem too bad. It has many different features, like it turns into a sit and stand when the older child is ready. i'm not too crazy about the pattern though. It's $179. Isn't it funny I found you on here!!!

C.,

I have a double stroller I've been looking to sell. I have two boys (now 3.5 and 2 yrs.)

I bought the Graco DuoGlider in the Metropolitan pattern. Very sharp black/gray, sun visors, 5 pt harness, elevated rear seat, fits any Graco infant carseat, cupholder/tray for parents and first seat (removable), and an extra large basket which is easy to reach and holds a lot.

My kids loved it, although I didn't use it for more than 6 months. Once my oldest decided he was "too big" to ride in a carriage he was all about the "me walk myself" so we went out and purchased an umbrella stroller for the little one.

I spent $200 for my double stroller. It was quite an extravagant purchase and I wish I could have gotten more use out of it, however, it was a lifesaver for the short time I did use it! As far as being lightweight, well they're all pretty cumbersome, but I never had a problem folding it up and getting it into my minivan. It also has a one hand fold which is great. It's in excellent condition. I'd sell it for $80.

Go to www.gracobaby.com and check it out. If you want more info or a picture of mine email me at ____@____.com and I'll give you my home number and we can chat more.
