We are road tripping to Santa Fe in April and i am looking for ideas on what to do there, where to eat, what to see. We want to do some of the outdoors stuff too, but my daughter is only 21 months.

What can I do next?

i'm from NM and i love the green chile! old town sante fe has a great feel to it. lots of places to shop and walk around and look at stuff. any of the restraunts down there are delicious. there is alot of cultural arts stuff to look at too. old town and the new part are great places to load up a stroller, grab a starbucks and enjoy the sights. there is a beautiful catholic church there and they have art exhibits on the street alot of times. if you have a chance to go hiking in the mountains the san dias mtns in albuquerque are beautiful and family friendly for hikes and picnics. gardunio's (i think thats how you spell it) is a great place for mexican food w/ a southwest smokey flavor. they are in albuquerque and i think santa fe too. oh and they have trader joes out there too! oh and don't forget what rachel ray says...just ask the locals!

I love visiting Sante Fe. The scenery and culture is amazing. You will want to visit the plaza dowtown and do some shopping and eating there. It's a little pricey but there are some wonderful shops. American Country Collection is in the middle of the plaza and is my favorite home furnishings store there. A great little place to have lunch is The Shed. It sits just east of the plaza on Palace Ave. There is a really historic church called the San Miguel Mission. You might want to visit there if you like history. There are a lot of art galleries and museums if you like the arts. It is a different kind of place and you will see some unique people! Everything is natural and full of Indian and Hispanic culture. We enjoy just taking it easy and going for drives and walking around to relax. I hope enjoy your trip!

I went to New Mexico last August. We stayed in Albuquerque first and then Santa Fe. We loved Albuquerque. However, we weren't so fond of Santa Fe. It is so expensive compared to Alb. We payed $100 for a HORRIBLE Motel 6! It was awful. I think it depends on you and your family. Everyone likes different things. That's what makes life so interesting! I did, however, LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackalopes!!!!!! IT was awesome! Enjoy your trip, regardless of what I say!

You are going to love this trip!!! I have been to Santa Fe three times. We stayed at the Four Seasons downtown. Right around the corner there is the market where all of the local some to sell stuff (jewelry, art, blankets, wallets and purses). Don't be afraid to bargain with them because that's half the fun. There is a great restaurant nearby called Cafe Pasqual's that is awesome for breakfast and lunch. There is so much to do and see. There is a great outlet mall about 30 minutes outside of the city too. Make sure you bring a good stroller because the downtown area is easily walkable. It is beatiful this time of year so I hope you have fun. Remember to breing a wide variety of clothes because it gets pretty chilly at night but warms up quit a bit during the day. Hope you have fun!
