Gift for Mom After Second Baby

When I had my second baby...my cousin, who is a teacher, bought me an odorable outfit for the baby. Then, about a month later (she is a teacher) she had a snow day and called and said to have my 3 year old ready, she was picking him up for the day and bringing him back to her house to plan with her son (2.5). It gave me a whole afternoon to focus on the baby and rest a little. It was really the best gift.

If you can't do something like that, I think every new mom loves a new pair of comfy PJs.

I'd suggest a sling like maya wrap, I loved mine so much.
Or something like fruit of the month. Or an organic nipple cream if she's going to nurse.

Make a gift basket. Depending on how much you want to spend. Get a baby towel with wash cloth, some baby soap/shampoo, baby wipes, destine or whatever you know she would use for diaper rash, maybe through in some onsies and booties. Than go to a spa and get her a gift certificate for a massage, or if you know she get her nails done or feet get a gift certificate to her nail salon. Or you could also get like a spa thing from the store to put in there too. You can get most of this stuff cheap at like retail shops or dollar stores or walmart wherever you shop. Don't go to babyrus unless you want to spend a lot. I just feel babysrus is expensive if you don't more power ot you. But make the basket yourself and have fun.

I've bought gift cards for her favorite restaurant. That way her and her husband can have adult time together.

I have a glass nail file from Snazzycreations.com It is great and is supposed to be healthy for your nails (prevents chipping & splitting). It can even be used on artificial nails!

The cool thing is that they can handpaint them so you could custom order one for Mom and have baby's name put on it, and/or maybe some little baby booties or a rattle.

It would be a thoughtful gift for Mom with baby in mind!

I always like to get something for mom at the time of delivery too! The last few gifts that I have bought have been some cute lounge pants and a new top for mom. After I had my daughter I remember not having any tops that fit (having underestimated the size of my chest :)I like to get lounge pants becausze they are comfy and still presentable for when guests come. I usually try to find a top that would be a bit on the long side to cover the necessary areas. I love to see the appreciation on their faces when they figure out is for them. I usually add in a cute blanket or rattle for baby as well.

I have 3 children, 3 and under and the gifts I appreciate most are meals delivered to my house and someone watching the kids so my husband and I can go out, even if it's just for a couple hours. Or you could watch the kids during the day so she can get out of the house and get something done (or just go sit at Starbucks and relax!) :O)

It depends on how much you want to spend. A pedicure, manicure, small things like that are a great pamper gift. If you want to spend more, then a massage, facial, etc. You could offer to watch the baby while she goes and has it done, then she can spend some time doing something she wants to do. I think the best gift for me would have been a free babysitter. Maybe arrange it with her husband, so that you have a day all set up and she can be surprised with a night out with her husband. If you want to pamper her, then that's what I would suggest. If she doesn't want to leave the baby yet, then offer to go with her and watch the baby in the office and chat with her while she has it done.

Hi. Why don't you get her a day for herself?
Many of the nail salons also offer pedicures and such for very reasonable prices (if you don't want to spend as much as you would at a spa)
When my stepdaughters each were married that was 1 of their pre-wedding gifts (or even as a birthday gift) and they absolutely loved it
The other thing you can do is offer to help when and however they may need it.
I have a new nephew due in the next 2 weeks and have told the parents (brother and s-i-l) to simply let me know when they need me and I'll be there; My sister has twins (almost 7) and a 1 yr old and that's what we do also ~ She calls me when she needs help and it seems to work out perfectly. I only live about 2 miles from them also so that helps too :)

I'd suggest a gift certificate for a pedicure. I've always enjoyed those.

I would bring a handmade coupon good for "taking big brother or sister for an afternoon so mom & baby can nap together" and bring her a bag of diapers. New moms can always use diapers and much needed rest especially during the first few weeks at home. What I would of done for a gift like that!!! She will be so grateful!! Especially during one of those episodes where you feel like you are gonna keel over because your so tired from being up all night long. Trust me, she'll love it.

I totally agree with Nicole! Plan a day when you can take her older child for the day or at least the afternoon so she can have some bonding time with the baby.
