Gift for Grandparent
I need a Christmas gift idea for my mom (my kids grandma). Every year I give my dad a homemade calendar with pictures of my girls. I can never think of a good gift for my mom from the girls. Any ideas would be great!

Last year, we gave all the grandparents a book about them. It is like an autobiography of their lives. They are to fill out the questions, tell stories of what it was like growing up, pics and all, then give it back to the kids as a gift. It is a memory that will last a lifetime and my family has enjoyed going back in time. There are quite a few on Amazon, I bought a few different kinds depending on their personalities. I am hoping my husband's 101yr old gma has finished it!
Have fun!

I would start by asking you what does she like? does she have any hobbies? like to read? is there a certain restaurant she enjoys? movies, theater? and what is your price range?

I just read a nice idea on a forum I read everyday. She gave the grandparents a "grandparents basket." She filled it with some "A" school work from the children, some of their artwork, dvd pictures of them throughout the year, and some items that they liked such as favorite teas/candies. You could also add other items that your mom likes, and the idea of the photo calendar is great. She also said she got the basket back after Christmas to fill for next year.

I think it depends on what the grandparents are like. My mother is pretty hip, so I always start with Red Envelope to see if there is anything pretty. Yes, I do gravitate towards the picture frame items because they are good. I can also suggest Etsy, which has amazing hand-made items. You can find gifts based on mom's favorite thing (i.e. teapots, cats, you get the idea). And yes, there's always Kodak's photo books - they have Martha Stewart styles that are beautiful.

In this past Sunday's Meijer advertisement i saw a throw blanket that you can make out of your personal pictures. It is on sale this week something like 20% off (i believe)

My p's get a calendar every year, and then this year they are getting a private photo shoot so they can have some professional quality pictures with their grandkids.
