I have a 6 year old girl and a 3 year old boy and want to spruce up their bathroom upstairs. Right now I have beige walls, yellow mats and some rubber duckie accessories and pictures. Other than painting the walls yellow or turqoise, what else can I do? Or what other themes are there besides the duck? Do you have any pictures?

TIA!

What can I do next?

We did a monkey theme for our kiddos/ guest bath. It turned out really fun! The original stuff I bought was so generic and since I have a boy and a girl I wanted to make it a little more fun for both. So I hot glued bows on every other monkey on the shower curtain, making it boys and girl monkeys! (Target set, I love it!) and had each of the kids names put on the decorative towels. I also got some fun art work of monkey's in swimsuits, one boy monkey and one girl monkey for hanging up on the wall and a couple of cute monkey hooks for their towels to hang on the back of the door.
A friend of mine went with a prince and princess frog theme and that turned out great as well using green and then accenting with some cute frog decorative items and hand towels etc.
If you're looking to do something less childlike you can always have fun with adding stripes or polka dots in art work or towels to add some other colors and a fun theme without actually making it a "kids" bathroom. Just depends on your preference!

Have fun! I love decorating! :-)

Go to Target they have cute curtains (cheap). We did the the Jungle shower curtain theme. It is really cute just a white shower curtain with animals on it. I don't really like to much on the curtain and this one has just a enough. I went to Sherman Williams and picked out a yellow paint (Biltmore Bluff). The kids (boy and girl) love it and so do I :).

Try green. Not lime green, but a pretty soft green such as soft fern- Benjamin Moore. Or if you want to do the blue and change the whole theme, you could do a tropical theme with palm trees and toucans, or a surfer theme with ocean waves and surfboards,or starfish,dolphins...mermaids?
A nice soft blue like Palladian blue from Benjamin moore would be nice with any of these themes.

Here are some cute shower curtains and accesories:

I am getting ready to change my kids bathroom but I used the primary colors(like a crayon box) Their shower curtain was called bubbles and it has blue, red, orange, green circles on it. I used red mats I actually found picture of a gumball machine which was red in an abc magazine that almost looked like real gum ball machine.(Put above toilet on the wall). I got towels from Target in these colors as well. I bought a long candle holder white in color and bought small candles in those colors as well and aligned them on the candle holder on the back of the toilet Underneath left me room for the kiddie wipes for the kids so it kind of hides them.. on the wall across from the mirror I found some circles at Target in these colors and put them along the top of the wall to the door.. The kids love the bathroom but getting older so I have no idea what I am going to think of now.. Hope this helps...

My sister-in-law painted the cutest theme in her kids bathroom- fish. She made one wall look like you were underwater and painted all of the popular fish from Finding Nemo. Then the side walls were just fish in a pretty blue. Then in the bathroom itself she had it like a sand bar with a treasure chest, etc. I thought it was really cute. Good luck.
