I live off the 78 freeway in North county, and just recently moved here..can you recommend a fun place to go have Happy hour?? or dinner?? A clean place with a good atmosphere..thanks!
Dalton's Roadhouse off Nordhal. Restaurant Row (severl places) off San Marcos Blvd.
There is actually an Elephant Bar right in San Marcos which is right off the 78 at Las Posas in the Nordstrom Rack, Petco Shopping Center. Also off of the 78 and San Marcos Blvd. if you head west is Restaurant Row with tons of restaurants, there is also the Forum in Carlsbad and they have a restaurant called the Yellow Coyote with bar and outside seating which is lots of fun.

Im not sure where you are off the 78 but I really like going to the Elephant Bar and restaurant. It is yummy! It is in Rancho Bernardo. If you, live close to the mall you could always go to the Macaroni Grill, or there is a Mexican restaurant over there with a good happy hour but the name has slipped my mind right now. San Marcos also has a lot of fun places to go such as, Penny lane, Old California Mining Company,and there is also a Elephant Bar there as well!I think its probably my favorite place to go! Oh, and one more in Escondido the Brigantine, there is a really cool outside seating area with a little water fall. Its really nice. Well I hope I have helped out, Good Luck!!
I've never been there personally, but my husband really likes Rookies off of El Camino Real. Thursday nights they have like $1.00 drinks or beers not sure if it includes mixed drinks. Tuesday nights they have all you can eat buffalo wings for $2.00.
Also, El Torrito off of El Camino Real and Vista dr. has a pretty good Kareoke night thursday nights and it's a family friendly restaraunt, we like to eat there often.
There are a bunch of restaraunts in the area where you live and they're all pretty decent.
