I want to rent a formal gown for a function but don't know where to look. Does anyone know of any rental places for formal gowns in the Houston/Katy area? or a good seamstress who could make a dress for me? any help would be appreciated!

What can I do next?

I don't but we had a formal father daughter dance for girl scouts last weekend and I found a dress at Goodwill for $8. It was in perfect condition and fit great.
I also have found other formal gowns for military balls at high end resale shops. THere is nothing better than finding a gown for $20 that you know cost $200 in the store.
Just something to think about .
Good luck.

Check ebay and craigslist for somthing in your size (or possibly one size bigger) and then have it altered. I bet you can find something super cheap!

Check out the clearance racks at major department stores. I used to work for Penney's and they would get rid of stuff, really cheap, at the end of the season. You might find something. Also contact fabric stores in your area, many of them have a list of seamstresses. Look at consignment stores too, I have gone to a few but to me the stuff is a bit overpriced.
