Hello,

We have a faux leather chair with a split in the seat that is getting bigger and bigger by the day. Does anyone know of a repair product or something we could use to patch this? We certainly can't afford to by two new chairs (it's one of a pair, we'd have to buy two) right now!!

Thanks!

M.

I would contact Dr. Vinyl, at drvinyl.com. They repair furniture and make house calls. There is one located in Lee's Summit.

I've seen "leather" repair kits advertised. Have you looked on the Internet?

Here is one site that not only tells you about their kit but also gives information about repairs and when doing them is possible.

They sell repair kits for car seats at places like Auto Zone. I bet that would work.

The leather on my bar stools ripped as you are describing. I went to a fabric store and bought new leather then I replaced it myself using a staple gun. I had to unscrew 4 screws on the bottom of the chair and take out a bunch a staples. I used the same padding and just replaced the leather. It looks as good as new.

Call your furniture store for the name & number of a furniture repair guy (or gal). They did wonders for our love seat--though it was leather. And it was reasonable!
