Fix a Drop Side Crib?

Contact the manufacturer. They all have adapter kits for the drop side cribs to stabilize them. They will send you the kit free of charge. Don't attempt a do it yourself fix for something this important!

My parents have a drop side crib for when we go visit. My dad used L-brackets to fasten the drop side to the stationery part of the crib. My husband did the same thing to my son's crib when we moved and the sliding mechanism broke off (this was ages ago). It wasn't until long after we tossed the crib that I saw in the news it was recalled. If you don't fee comfortable with that, you can try contacting the manufacurer as others have suggested. However, not all drop side cribs have been recalled. They just aren't making them anymore.

well i just had to fix my daughters crib at my moms house because the side wouldnt stay up i used zip ties. 5 on each side and it didnt move at all

Drop side cribs are being phased out. I'll be surprised if yours isn't on a recall list.

I would invest in a newer non-drop crib.

Contact the manufacturer and give them the model number of the crib. Also, depending on how the crib was stored, check it to make sure thre are no loose slats. A friend of a friend stored theirs in the basement and after they put it together, luckily her 4 yr old leaned on it first (before the baby did) and one of the slat came off. The glue that held it had deteriorated due to the moisture in the basement. It usually takes longer for glue to get bad but you never know. She was able to fix it but was so glad the baby was not in it.

Yes contact your manufacturer and they should sent you the kit to make it not move.
