This year will be my husband's first real father's day and i want to get him or do something special but not cheezy. What will you be doing for father's day or have done in the past? Thanks for sharing!

What can I do next?

Get your son's picture made and give it to Daddy. You could also go to one of those paint your own pottery places and make something. My son once painted a beer stein for his Dad (although my son was a little older). You could also do a coffee mug or a plate or something with his handprint or footprint on it.

I bought a hammock with a stand and had a plate embroidered with my son's name and my hubby-- they still love to lay in it under the trees and my son will be 5 this summer.....

I have a couple of suggestions (all things I've done for my hubby for Father's Days, birthdays, etc.). If you have a good picture of the two of them, frame it in a special frame to give him. Frame a favorite picture of just your baby boy to give him (for him to maybe take to the office). You could do hand prints of your baby boy in paint and frame those, you can put your son's name, age, and Father's Day, 2008 on it, too. I always just try to make my hubby's Father's Day presents from the kids or involving the kids (pictures, paintings, anything special like that). They also have some cute gifts you can get made with pictures at places (online or even Wal Mart) ... like mugs, mouse pads, calendars, etc. My hubby loves his gifts like that with the kids' pictures on them! Good luck! And, Happy Father's Day to your hubby ... and congrats on your newest addition! ;)

Send him fishing! Or golfing. Or whatever he likes to do.

Hi A.!

For my husband's first father's day I got a journal and put a picture of him and my daughter in it and wrote an entry about the things they do together and her favorite things. each year I put in a picture and a similar entry. now that my daughter is getting old enough, I let her draw him a picture and this year I think she will pick out the picture. I wanted her to have something to give him every year that is special to them.

We did kids hand and footprints with beautiful sayings that you can find online. You can frame them afterwards(for the office or something). It is priceless:)
