I have an 11th month old and I desparetly need to get his first haircut. I know this question has been asked by several people but you can't search on this site! Can someone recommend someone or preferably a kid only place. I live in Wylie but willing to drive to Plano/Dallas/Frisco/Allen etc. Thanks!

Hands down, the best place to go is Cool Cuts 4 Kids. The environment is awesome, and what kid would NOT like getting their haircut while watching Elmo or Blues Clues while sitting in a fire engine or airplane!!! They present you with a photo and a clipping of the hair too for the baby book. I would never take my kids anywhere else!

Check out Cool Cuts 4 Kids in Allen in the Target/Home Depot shopping center on the SW corner of Hwy 75 and McDermott. They have little cars for the kids to sit in or he can sit in your lap, a fun play area while you wait, and the kids can choose a favorite movie/cartoon to watch while they are getting their cut. You pay a little more ($14 for my daughters) but it is worth it to have the fun things to distract them.
Cool Cuts for Kids. There is one in the Toys R Us in Frisco. The staff is friendly and they have a "first haircut" package where they take your child's picture and save a lock of their hair.
We use Cool Cuts for Kids in Allen (at 75 and McDermott--SW corner), and Stephanie is our stylist. We've been very pleased. My daughter LOVES going there and has never cried once about getting a haircut.
Cool Cuts for Kids. The first haircut package is great & they do a good job. When I can, I do my own kids' hair, but when they're just to rambunctious, (sp?) I bring them to Cool Cuts for Kids.

I live in Wylie also. The Cool Cuts for Kids in Garland by the Target off of George Bush is great. They give you a picture and an envelope with a lock of hair for the first haircut. They also keep the kids entertained while they cut. Check it out online. Hope this helps.

We also went/go to Snip Its at 121 and Ohio in Plano (basically in the WalMart parking lot). They are super nice and do the first hair cut picture/lock of hair/certificate. I have also heard about a good one right in Stonebriar but I can't remember the name, and I have heard the one at Toys R Us is good, but it always seems really busy whenever we are shopping there. We always walk in to Snip Its (on the weekend) and usually have very little wait. Good luck - It was traumatic for me the first time! It's a big step...

I would recommend "The Kid Salon" in Allen(Allen Heights and McDermott). It should be closer to you than any of the other salons suggested. I took my daughter there for her first haircut and they gave her the royal treatment! She got to pick out a movie to watch, ride in the "car" while her hair was cut, and they took a photo of her and put in in a card with a locket of her hair...so sweet!! We go to Snipits in Frisco (Ohio & 121) very near Stonebriar Mall. They have themed movies and stuff for them to watch and are very nice. They have a website and take walkins.
