Fetal Heart and Stomach Concerns

Make a list of questions for the doctor, & make sure you understand the answers. No matter how simple or how naive you feel the questions are...please, please ask them.

The more info & the more background you have....the better off you'll be when it is time to make decisions. Whether the decisions are quick & easy or whether they require soul-searching ....please keep yourself in a position of fully understanding & comprehending the event. Know that whatever God has planned is something that you CAN handle. But hey, it may not even be anything! With both of my girls I had complications. With my youngest she was measuring 5-6 weeks small! We also had level 2 sono's (every other week) and fetal echos. They were guessing she'd MAYBE be 4 lbs. at birth and had me all scared about IUGR (where they stop growing in utero) and delivering early, blah blah blah. Everything was fine!

Not saying that to undermine what you're going through right now, it's all so scary. Are they concerned with too much or too little fluid? I thought too little was always the cause for concern.

Take all of this as it comes. Know that everything will work out just as it's supposed to.

You have a good doctor who is making certain that you get all of the care that you and your baby need. You should ask your doctor(s) what the best and worst case senarios are so that you have a clear understanding.

Keep in mind that sometimes, things change, and there can be a spurt in development. This could be your case.

Just in case your baby needs pre-or post delivery treatments, meet the doctors ASAP so that they won't be strangers to you.

I hope everythig goes well for you and baby i'm also 28 yrs old and pregnant with our 3rd child currently 21 weeks along and it is hard not to worry about the health and well being of the little life growing inside of you.You have a dr who is on top of this.Take a warm bath and comfort your husband as he should do you as well tonite get a goods nites sleep and go in for your next test don't leave until you fully understand what is happening to baby maybe it was the position he was laying in. I wish you the best Pray for Gods hand in this and belive in your heart that miracles happen you have the strength and courage within your heart.

With my last pregnancy, I had extra fluid, like I think the norm is 5-25 and I had 38. I don't know what they were measuring, I just remember them saying those numbers. Anyways, my son was born completely health and they had no explanation for the extra fluid. I only knew that I had the extra fluid because they did a sonogram to see if he was head down or breach. He was not head down, that was because he had so much fluid to still move around in. So maybe there isn't anything really wrong. If they didn't see anything wrong when they did your standard sonogram around 20 weeks, it's surprising that they are finding all of these things to be concerned about now. Good luck to you.

Hang in there. I know a girl whose daughter was born without a stomach wall so her innards were on the outside of her body. Amazingly, since they saw it on the sonogram, they were able to do a C-section and prep her for surgery later that day. They got everything put together and she's now 2 and perfectly normal. The dr. even made sure the closure was by her belly button so she wouldn't feel too self conscious as a teen. I tell that story to say that the more they know before the birth, the better the chances they can repair any problems. While it must be incredibly scary for you now, keep the faith and hold out hope that it will be something that can be remedied. Best of luck!

I am sorry for your worry I have no insight to give you but please Know that I and Many others that read about your concerns are praying that thing are ok for you and your Little one. The waiting and not knowing are the hardest things to bare.
