Fearing Miscarriage

I am coming to the end of my 3rd month of pregnancy, not sure of exact due date, my first ultrasound is Monday. For the past few weeks I have had light spotting and a little mild pain and pressure. I probably didn't take it seriously enough, as it was very mild, and continued my daily activities as normal. It has graduated to heavier bleeding and some cramping in the past several days. I called my doctor last night. He never gets riled, he's very non alarmist, but he acted like it is serious, told me to stay off my feet all weekend and rushed the ultrasound instead of the appointment I had with him Monday. During the night, I had some severe cramps, and this morning passed some clots. I'm feeling really scared. I want to believe that I can salvage this pregnancy and that a miscarriage is not imminent. I'm feeling guilty I was not more careful sooner. Has anyone had these symptoms and still pulled through? Please, encouragement only at this point, I'm looking for things I can do to keep this pregnancy if it's meant to be.

What can I do next?

if it really is a miscarriage there is really no way to stop it. But it could be implantation bleeding. I had it with both of my children. My first at 9 weeks and my second at about 11 weeks. I had cramping all throughout my pregnancy and I passed clots when I had the implantation bleeds. The ultrasound will tell the story. There is no way to tell otherwise. Good luck.

I am very sorry, my sister went through the same last january at this time. Please know that it is not your fault and there is nothing that you can do.

On a happy note, my sister got pregnant again pretty quicky and a beautiful baby boy was born 2 weeks ago :-)
