Should I be at all concerned about spotting at this point in my pregnancy? Please give me some insight. I've also had light cramping since implantation.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I love my new doctors office. The nurse on call was wonderful. She was reassuring yet concerned. She told me to relax, but to come in for a blood test. I'm getting tested today at 1pm, Friday at 1pm and Saturday at 1pm. If my HCG levels rise, then I'm pregnant. If not, then I will cry. I've been praying almost hourly for my dear unborn baby.

First blood test was good. Now if my levels rise on Friday we'll know things are fine.

At 5 or 6 weeks with my last pregnancy I started bleeding and cramping. It lasted through the whole first trimester! It started red, but was brown most of the time. The doctors told me I had miscarried, but then found a heartbeat a few days later. Then, they told me they were certain I would miscarry. It was a roller coaster of a pregnancy, but I have a wild little 21-month-old who keeps me on my toes! So, there is always hope! Good luck.

I recommend calling your obgyn too. I spotted for one day in one of my pregnancies around 6 weeks and at my two month checkup had an ultrasound that confirmed that I was miscarrying.

J. - you should call you Dr. to be sure. But I had some dark spotting as well and it was fine. They said as long as it was not bright red.

I've had it go both ways i'll be honest. I got preggers in December of 08. Had light spotting starting at about 6 weeks. I went to the ER. Yeah I know it was a waste now but didn't know that then. They told me the usual you have a 50/50 chance. YAY! will with that one it did end in a miscarriage. About a week after the first day of spotting I had a full fledged miscarriage. Now I got pregnant again in March and had spotting off and on till 20 weeks. I now have a beautiful boy that is 18 weeks old sleeping in his crib as we speak. I had a friend that just had her baby and she spotten like at about 5 weeks and that turned out to be implantation bleeding. She again just had her baby girl 10 days ago.

If I was you I'd call my OB and see if they can't get you in for a quick ultrasound if you are past 6 weeks. Then they will most likely be able to pull up a heartbeat and you will know right then and there! Good luck! Baby dust!

If it's just spotting and no major pains, you should definitely be okay. Keep an eye on it but it's probably implantation. Try not to worry!

I had a miscarriage in November at 6 weeks...in january I became pregnant again and started having bleeding, cramping andc blood clots ...i was 6 weeks pregnant also. Went to the emergency room and heard a heartbeat. I am now 12 weeks and am OK with the morning sickness and nauseousness I am feeling. After I went through, i can handle that.

The dr said it may have been the implantation of the egg...and my sac looked great, anything can happen, dont think of the worst! Good luck..
