Family Vacation - Cold Spring Harbor,NY

We are all taking a family vacation next month, I needed to go bathing suit shopping and hubby has been begging me to get her ina bikini for two years. I havent worn a bikini in years. So i thought it would be a fun/sexy surprise and i picked two out. I am 40 and have two teens, are my kids going to be embarrased to be with mom when shes in a bikini, i know my daughter wont but my son might be, he hasnt seen me in a bikini since he was little, probably 8 years ago. What do you guys think?

I agree with everyone else - you should go for it! As long as you feel comfortable, maybe start with a tankini to ease into it and then go for a bikini. Bring along a sheer sarong too in case you feel like covering up a bit from time to time.
I am 35 and have young twins and I always wear a bikini! I am not the skinny little thing from my 20s anymore but I don't think I am scary either : ) I just wear the string style with decent bottom coverage and avoid all thong/minimal bottom coverage styles.
Good luck and have fun!

why should they be embarrased? its a bathing suit! you can always get a tankini if you're uncomfortable. Im 39 and I only wear a bikini. I hate one piece bathing suits! go for it mamma

hey if you look good in a bikini...then why not flaunt it!

How about a tan-kini as a compromise? It's the best of both worlds without all the show and tell.

If, at 40 years old, you have the body to wear a bikini, then go for it!! Your son will think he has a "hot mama"!

i wear nothing but two piece bikini. i don't like the one piece at all. feels to me like i am wearing a blanket at the beach :)
don't worry what the kids might think. i bet you they'll think they're mama is cool.
btw, i don't have a rockin body.
:)

if you feel comfortable go for it! A.

If it fits well and you feel comfortable in it, go for it!
