Family Camping Trip!

Hello all of you fellow mama's. My husband and I are trying to find a place that we can take our 5 year old camping. We just bought a 24 ft camper and would like to take our kids camping. I live in Illinois, but the camping thing is new for us. Do you know of any good and fun campsites around? We don't mind driving far. Thanks.

What can I do next?

there is a yogi bear in wisconin dells that my kids love.we usually get a "theme" site that is right near the park and they just built a new water area for the little kids. good luck and have fun!!!!!

Camping is soooo much fun!! We take our 3 1/2 year old to Indiana Beach in Monticello, IN. It is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from the Joliet, IL area. They have an amusement park and the camping there is so much fun. In the campground they have parks for the kids, a new small waterpark, mini golf, clean bathrooms w/showers, etc... There is so much to do.
Another good location we go to is Turkey Run State Park in Parke Co., IN. We go there when we want to go conoeing. There they have the State park, lots of walking trails, nature center, pools and all kinds of different campgrounds in the area. This place is about 3.5 hours away.
Let me know where you pick and if you liked it. We go camping all the time & it would be nice to have some people to camp with. Good luck.

Hi,
We go to the Yogi Bear in Millbrook which is around Yorkville/20 minutes from Plainfield. We have been going there with our 2 boys for 5 years. It is always clean and they have activities every hour.

We go tent camping once a year at the KOA Utica/La Salle. It is only 45 mins from the western suburb area, and the campground is clean with a pool and other little activities. We always take a day trip to Starved Rock and hike. You can probably fish and picnic there too.
