Extra Wide Toddler Shoes

My daughter has extra wide feet. Stride Rite and preschoolians have been the brands that she has primarily worn comfortably. However, she has just sized out of preschoolians (now wears toddler 10.5) and stride rite has such a limited selection of XW shoes. I'm looking for recommendations of shoe stores, brands and/or websites that offer a wider selection of xw shoes (or wide shoes that are comfortable on a foot with a high arch). Any advice greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

Jenny Jon, a store in the Fashion Center mall in Paramaus, New Jersey and Nordstrom's in the Garden State plaza have European shoes that have a softer sole (good for toddlers) and a good wide selection. I know it is not close to the Bronx but perhaps there is a store similar in your area. I had the EXACT same problem with my son and the woman in Stride Rite sent me to these stores to help and it did. They are a little more expensive than Stride Rite but not tooo bad....

Hi D.,

New Balance, has a great line of kids shoes and they are one of the few brands that offer sizes in Wide.

Check out their website!

Hi D.,

Wide shoes are available from Harry Shoes on 83rd and Broadway. You can shop on line as well but I like to have the kids fit for the shoes. I bought Elephanten, German made shoe for years because anything else did not last long enough, the width would feel uncomfortable before the foot grew the full length of the footbed. These shoes are also available through www.hannaanderssen.com

I also shop from www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com for wide sneakers at a fraction of the retail price.

Good luck,

Hi D.,

Try pedipeds, they are great and good for the feet. They have such pretty shoe selections for girls. Pediped.com.
