Experience with Using Xylestril?

Hello Moms,
I'm curious... does anyone have any input on Xylestril? It is a dietary supplement created specifically for women. It claims to also aid in improving one's complexion and giving her a sort of healthy-looking "glow," if you will. If I were to use this, clearly I would also eat healthy, well-balanced meals, in addition to exercising regularly... but just wondering if this is even worth looking into as a supplement. I am hoping to lose about 15 pounds. Thanks!

I am always skeptical of those fad like things, they inevitably find down that road that it causes something.
I am reminded of fenfen. ( my friends mom died because she was one of the people that caused heart problems)

Anyway. I lost those last 15 lbs about 1 year ago, kept it off and it was the easiest thing I ever did.

try eating healthful foods and adding a little more movement in your life on a daily basis first and see your results in 30 days. Then try something else if you are not having any results. Remember it really is a lifestyle change so add more fruits and veggies to every meal and a brisk 10 to 15 minute walk to your day you will be surprised how easy it really is.

dietary supplements do not have to prove efficacy unlike FDA regulated drugs. Also their safety both short term and long term are not well known. The US Congress passed a law in 1994, the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (misleading name) that significantly rolled back regulation and safety oversight of these products.
If you are looking to loose weight, there is a really good study out a few weeks ago that shows the key to weight loss is calories - plain and simple overall calorie intake. Physical exercise has its own merits but if you look at similar individuals you can best predict their weight by looking at how many calories they take in daily. I wouldn't waste my money on a dietary supplement. Instead buy a calorie counter and move to eat in mainly. And maybe a copy or two of cooking light or one other decent cook book that helps you find tasty options. Also, Dr. Mason, the Chicago Health Commissioner advocates giving up meat for a while. That often lowers a person's weight when you eat mainly fruit and veggies. Good Luck.
