Electric Toothbrushes - 2 Part Question
Hello moms,
I have a 10 year old step son that is currently using one of those tooth tunes. The music vibrates on their teeth for 2 miniutes so he knows whenhis 2 miniutes are up. The only problem I have found is I catch him just standing there with the toothbrush on his teeth listening to the music & not actually brushing his teeth. To me, his teeth are turning a little yellow, but it could have something to do with him having to take albuterol inhaler twice a day, which he does right before brushing his teeth. Any suggestions on how to get him to REALLY brush his teeth?
My second question is for my husband & I. We are currently using the Crest spin brush, but Im finding it doesnt really clean my teeth as much as I would like. Can you tell me what kind of electric toothbrushes you all use & why you like them? We are in the hunt for a new one.
Thank you so much for your advice.

I love my SONICARE!
I have 4 children ages 6, 8, 10, 11
they all use the Sonicare since age 5
never once a cavity.
I hear the word expensive being tossed around about this product.
I would say absolutely NOT, very much inexpensive or free if you compare it to dental bills............
It is so worth having children with zero dental issues. (and myself)
Oh, and that just from the dentist clean feeling after each and every brush is PRICELESS!!

Honey is right. Stand with the son to make sure he's brushing. Even 10 year olds want direction.
And, the Sonicare is fabulous. Yes, it is pricey, but here's my experience. 12 months ago at my check up, I had many 4 and 5 mm pockets in my gums. My dentist and hygienist told me to get the Sonicare. I got a Sonicare and at my next check up 6 months ago, the deepest pockets I had were 3 mm. I'll never use any other toothbrush.

We love our SonicCares also! 2 for $99.99 (includes travel cases) at Costco right now. :) Be sure you get the "quadpacer" on yours. It'll give a beep every 30 sec so you will spend 30 sec on each quarter of your teeth, equalling 2 full minutes. Good luck!

I have to agree with the other moms. I have had a Sonicare toothbrush for 5+ years. Before Sonicare I had gingivitus and sore gums. With the Sonicare I get the fresh from the dentist feeling everyday! Also, my hygenist regularly tells me how great my teeth look and that I must floss everyday (and shhhh, I never do!).
We have had to replace ours 2 times over the past couple years with the base accidentally being dropped. For a little while my hubby and I shared the same base and just had different toothbrush heads...might be a way to keep it more affordable.
Good luck.

We have the Sonicare too! My in-laws bought us it for X-mas a few years back. They started using them and said they are great and bought one for all the adults in the family. They sell 2 packs, which is what my DH and I got. They each have a different color band, to tell them apart. They only come with 1 charger but we take turns and they really do work great! They are pretty pricey but awesome and worth every penny!

Well, I use Albuterol and I know how bad it can effect my mouth tissue if I don't brush right away. So, why not have him brush his teeth after that and at bedtime and other times too. Not just after the meds.
Get some of those chew up pills from the dentist, or the office can tell you where to get them, and show him what he's missing.
