I have had a sinus infection for about 3 weeks now. I am pretty much better except for my ears. They constantly feel stopped up and they pop and screech when I blow my nose and it hurts so bad. Is there anything I can do or take to help my ears not feel so clogged up? I have tried peroxide in them and it didnt help. I feel like I am in my own little world because I have trouble hearing what is going on around me.

What can I do next?

I have horrible sinus' too. I have recently started using "Euphorbium Sinum Relief" nasal spray. It is a homeopathic medication that I just happened to pick up at Central Market. I really do think that it is helping me tremendously! Good Luck!!

It's actually normal to have fluid in your ears for a long time after an infection is gone. Like a couple months even. You might find relief from any over the counter medicines that say they are for head or nasal congestion, like Sudafed. You can take it along with something like Tylenol or Motrin/Advil for the pain. I've heard of people using an ear candle too (I think you get it at health food stores). However, you might have an ear infection that needs an antibiotic. It's pretty common for sinus infections to lead to ear infections.

MUCINEX...this has been my life-saver. When I was put on it by an ENT--due to repetitive sinus infections, it was a prescription. I have not had a sinus infection since finding it. Buy it at Walmart or any drug store. I believe I take two (equals what my prescription dose was) if I am trying to get or already have a sinus infection...for basic more routine care, I follow the box and take one---I am not a doctor--just sharing what I do. The first sign of my ears hurting is when I take two...that signals to me a sinus infection coming on.

IT WORKS...

I do pediatric medicine but I would recommend making sure you are using a Saline spray for your nose and then try Rescon GG- ask the pharmasist, it is available in an adult version- IO know the pediatric version is one that is behind the counter----
Ear drops won't help as the fluid is trapped behind the ear drum.

Y., Try diluting some sea salt in warm water and putting in your ear and lay down for five minutes to allow the salt water to do its job. This will help clear up your ears and break up that congestion and fluid in your ear. Just like saline drops do for your nose. My doctor suggested this one time and it works wonders for your ears. Salt is an excellent antibacterial agent. Let me know if this helps. You can also try taking a decongestant to clear some of the congestion as well.

I strongly recommend seeing a chiropractor who has experience dealing with ear issues. When my daughter has had ear infections in the past, we do chiropractic adjustments instead of antibiotics and the infection heals and the fluid drains much quicker.

I had a sinus infection for a long time that led to an inner ear infection after 2 weeks of anitbiotic it cleared but the fuid was in my ear for a long time. Mine was due to seasonal allergies. I take a zyrtec everyday plus rinse out my sinuses with a nettie pot (you can get these at Whole Foods) you mix a saline solution in them and pour it in your nose to rinse out your nasal passages of any allergens. I do it every night and it's worked very well.
