My daugther will be 10 next month and would like to get her ears pierced. I'm looking for a place in Dublin or Northwest Columbus to get this done. Can anyone recommend a nice clean place that is good with kids? Also it would be great if we could get them both done at the same time, instead of one ear at a time. Any suggestions.

I highly recommend looking for a piercing or tattoo shop. They are more knowledgable than the people at the malls, and their equipment is MUCH better. I've had many troubles getting pierced in malls, but never had problems getting pierced in a piercing/tattoo shop.

My daughter just got her ears pierced for her 6th birthday. I would highly recommend NOT getting them pierced with plastic earrings. My daughter used plastic and although the plastic is hypoallergenic, they are very porous, which can allow bacteria to grow. I didn't realize this at the time I got her ears done, and although she fortunately didn't get any bigtime infection, they didn't heal up the way I would've liked them to. I don't recommend the 14K gold either. 24K is pure gold, so the 14K are part gold and part something else (which can vary based on the color). Apparently white gold uses nickel as the alloy, which is very allergenic. I recommend titanium. It's very strong and pretty inexpensive and hardly anyone is allergic to it. Most of the piercing places these days recommend titanium. I'm pretty sure that most places have it. I know Claire's does.
Also, I recommend going early in the day and getting them done at the same time. I made the mistake of going in the evening and getting them one at a time. Oops! My daughter got the first one done and cried for nearly half an hour while I tried to convince her to do the other one. In the end, we went home with only one pierced and went back the next morning to get the other one done. She was much braver (having just had 10 hours of sleep!) and only cried out, OUCH! and was done with it! Timing is important when pain is involved.
Anyway, I know that wasn't your question, but I thought it might be helpful based on my very recent experience :)

Walmart is a great place to go. They will do both at the same time. Also not too expensive.
My friend got her daughters done there.
I on the other hand did it the hard way. I took my daughter to Clairs & the lady there did one at a time. It was very expensive & she messed up on the 2nd ear. My daughter & I were very upset.
Also walmart has great earings for sensitive ears and age appropriate, not too dangly.
I'm seeing some negative feedback here about Claire's but let me just say, I'm 26 and have had my ears pierced 5 times over the years. 4 of the five (second and third hole on the bottom and two holes in the left upper cartilage) were done at Claire's and I've never had a problem. I'll even list the ages I had them done...11, 15, 16, 18 and not a problem. They give you detailed care instructions and a large bottle of solution and they have a large selection of earrings at different price ranges and different sensitivities. I have sensitive ears and would highly recommend the 14K piercing studs, they even have different shapes, little hearts or stars so she can pick what she likes. This is a big moment for your little girl, she's growing up and will remember this for a long time. Make a fun mother/daughter day out of it! You can always ask for them to be done at the same time but let me say this, if they aren't EXACTLY at the same time she could jump and the second hole could be off a bit (this is anywhere not just claire's) so instead you might have 2 people ready have the first one go then count to 10 and have the second one go. :) good luck and let us know how it goes!
Claire's does a great job! She may cry for a whole 2 minutes or so, but they tolerate it very well. Claire's will do both ears at the same time if they can. My pediatrician even recommended them. We did our daughter's at 3 mo and she cried for a total of 20 seconds and they look awesome :) Good luck!

I took my daughter to Merle Norman -- they are in a strip mall at the corner of 161 and Sawmill. Our pediatrician's office also does ear piercing. You might want to try yours.
We went to Clairs at Easton. You can request that both are done at the same time. Three of my daughters went there and they all turned out great. They had a good selection of earrings and give them a big bottle of ear care cleaner. Good luck!
