Good evening ladies,

Looking for a double stroller (not the double wide). Kids will be 22 months and 5 months when I need it. Want something that I can pick up and put in car without killing myself. Moderate price. Any suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Tha k you everyone. I will make a list of your suggestions and go try them out before I buy one. My least favorite I think is the sit and stand. My granddaughter loves her stroller. Not sure how she would fair. However, not ruling it out. Stroller weight is a big factor for me. Can always count on everyone for some great suggestions. You are all the best.

I've only used my Phil and ted. it was the first and last stroller I bought. It's still going almost 6 years later. I absolutely love it. It fits in small bathrooms and everything! And it pushes in the snow!

We've used our Sit N Stand over the past 6 years with 3 kids. It's great! I think it's about $150 and not heavy at all.

As a mother of 2.. I've seen and tried almost every type of double (wont bore you with the misadventures of that)... Love love my Phil & Teds I inherited from my SIL. It looks like s single stroller with bigger inflatable tires (great for rough terrain), with a second seat that clips on the back (or front if child in main seat is reclined), It has a single swivel front wheel that has the option to lock. Wish I would've gotten this off the bat. My children are 18 mo apart and it's perfect. They are now 24 mo and 3&1/2 yrs and its still perfect. You can see what it looks like by searching Internet. You can find used ones on CL for approx 150-250 think they're about 450 new. Seen one with the second seat attachment included for $399 on targets website. Happy stroller shopping!

Hi! We did the Graco Ready2Grow double stroller. My last 2 (of 5) were newborn and 27 months old when we got it. I liked it bc the baby carseat can go on the front or back seat, which was nice depending on the mood of the toddler, or temperament of the baby.
The rear seat (the removable one) is remarkably easy to remove. We have really gotten good use out of it!
I plan to continue to use it even as the kids get older bc the older child can sit or stand in the space where the second seat goes, if you remove it.
Some drawbacks:
There isn't a great way to access the storage net underneath. I find this a problem with ALL doubles, though.
It is not too heavy, but it is bulky. I have to wedge it into my Ford minivan, and it only fits a certain way. If I get it wrong, I can't get the van closed.

We found ours on sale, and paid around $160 for it (paid additional for a matching carseat for the infant.)

I would suggest a Sit-n-Stand. The two year old will not likely sit in a stroller as much as the baby, and Sit-n-Stand allows the toddler to walk, then hop on and catch a ride when tired of walking. They are not as big and bulky as a full double stroller.

We have a Combi. It's the third double stroller we've had. The first two were front and back doubles (one Sit N Stand, one Chicco) and this one IS a side by side, but it's fabulous! It fits through a standard door, just fine. It handles remarkably well; turns easily, can be pushed with one hand, and is incredibly light. It actually folds twice, which makes it much smaller than a lot of other doubles. When it folds it actually stands up by itself. I didn't realize how helpful this would be, but I would never buy another stroller that didn't do this. My children are 2 1/2 and 4 and we've been using it for about a year. Each side has its own canopy and can recline independently of the other. There are three kid cup holders which is a plus. It's a double stroller that you'll be able to use for a while. My four year old is in the 99th percentile for height and she still fits comfortably in there.

Here's a link to the stroller on TRU. Right now they are running their Great Trade In event where you can trade in one piece of equipment (think, something your child has outgrown or doesn't use anymore) for a 25% off coupon on any new piece of equipment. I'm actually going to be trading in our single umbrella style stroller for another Combi single for the times when we don't need a double! There are several color options, this is just the first one that came up on Google! Good luck! I always said if someone had told me 4 years ago how many strollers and car seats I'd go through before I decided on one I would have said they were certifiably insane! Hope this helps!

I agree with the Phil & Ted's. Compact, responsive and smooth ride.

Out sit and stand is HEAVY. Hard to push with both kids in in, and a massive pain to collapse, etc...

We had a City Jogger Micro (about $150-200) and LOVED it. Very lightweight, easy to collapse, fit through standard doorways, etc...
I would see if you can locate a used one on Craigslist, if you want to do it cheaply. It was a really wonderful stroller for us (that we sold when our kids didn't need it anymore).
