Double Stroller Recommendation - Rochester,MI

Hello. I am due in June 2010 and my son will be just under 2 years old. I am looking for advice on a double stroller. Do you prefer side-by-side or front-to-back with kids that will be 2 years apart. Any particular brands that stick out as being great or horrible.

I have 3 double strollers and I love them all. It depends what you are going to use it for most? I love my Joovy sitnstand for shopping, Graco Quattro dbl stroller for walks or zoo, Baby Trend double jogging stroller (side by side) for walks but it isn't good in tight places like the mall. Good luck:)

I have used many double strollers in my time as a mom. I am currently pregnant with my 6th, and all of my children are very close together so we have always used a double stroller.
If you want something that is wonderful without having to spend $300 or more, the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller is your best bet! I was so very impressed with it. It is easy to maneuver and collapse. The best thing is that when it is collapsed it doesn't take up much room and it can stand or lay down. And because of the way it collapses, you can push it when it is collapsed! I love it and so does my husband!
It has an option for cup/snack holders in the front or just the bar. It nicely holds an infant carrier in the back too which was always important to me. And unlike many other double strollers, it comes with 2 sufficient cup holders for adults, as well as a pouch to carry essential items in. Additionally, the bottom basket collapses so you can easily put items in and take them out.
As you can see, I clearly have a lot of possitive things to say about this stroller.

I have 5.5 mos old twins. I use the City Mini Jogger double stroller. I love it! Both babies can see out at the same time. It's also super easy to collapse. It weighs about 25 lbs (this is very light for a double stroller). Also- I used this stroller when the twins were newborns- the seats fully recline. There is also an adapter to fit almost any infant car seat on the stroller. Good luck and congratulations :)

The BOB dualie is the best! I have a three year old, 2 year old and 5 month old and use it religiously. Love to exercise so its great if you are active and it also fits through the doors at the mall. Easy to use and really great- worth the expensive price tag. Easy to collapse- its large when you do it but I think they all pretty much are...

My kids are 20 months apart. I had a graco side-by-side that got used only a few times because it was so hard to push. I always ended up putting the baby in a bjorn and then using my single stroller. Then I got a sit & stand (ultralight caboose by Joovy) and I am so glad I did. By the time I got it, my baby was out of his baby carseat but you can attach the baby carseat to the front and then your toddler and choose to sit or stand. We made a big deal about it being her special spot and she has never thought otherwise. It is so easy to push with a decent amount of storage.

Congratulations! My kids are two years and two weeks apart so I faced the same dilemma with the double stroller. I got a double stroller only to be completely disappointed.

After MUCH research, I got a Sit N Stand from One Step Ahead: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId...

I cannot tell you how much we love it! My kids are now 4 & 2 and my husband just loaded it in the car to use it at the zoo. It's reasonably priced and you will use it for years! Plus, One Step Ahead always has discounts.

Best wishes!

I highly recommend the sit and stand stroller. Our children are 22 months apart and we absolutely loved it! They are now 5 and 3 and I still use it for certain excursions, like going to the mall. It's great

I have a graco front to back that I no longer need ... if you are in the Ann Arbor area, you're welcome to it; it's used and probably needs a good scrub, but it's in relatively good shape; normally I would just give it away, but my account right now is in the red, so if you could spare 10-20 for it, that'd be awesome; if not, you're welcome to it anyway.

I have twins and had both strollers. It depends on what you'll be using it for. I bought a front to back and liked it for shopping or things like that b/c it was easier to get through doorways b/c it's not so wide. But it is very hard to stear esp when they get older and heavier, it's a work out to push it. I got a side by side that was a stroller/bike trailer and love it for walking and pulling behind the bike. I bought the front to back used from a frind, so I didn't pay a lot for it, but I sold it before they were 2 because it was too hard to push. They just turned 3 and I am hoping to get one more season out of my other one...well worth the money.
