Double Stroller?
Another for you moms out there! I am looking for a double stroller - obviously the catch is that I only need one infant seat and that is next to impossible to find! I've seen the Stand 'n Ride and Sit and Stands...any suggestions or comments on these? Thanks again moms!

I saw one at walmart that had a place for a car seat to clip in on the front and a place for a bigger kid to sit behind. When I go to walmart again I will get the name of it for you but in the mean time try looking on www.walmart.com thay might have it listed

I recently had to go through the same search. I ended up buying the double stroller that Graco makes. I have the graco infant seat that I am going to reuse with my son when he arrives in Nov., and the Graco double stroller configures to where you can use it with one carseat and then leave the other seat for an older baby, which my 14 month old son will use. Also, it is cheaper than a lot of the other double strollers out there, selling for around 130. Walmart also sells a double stroller that can be used for one carseat and one child. I could only find it online (but you can have it shipped to any Walmart you want for free) and it retailed at around 90 dollars. I can't remember the brand name, just price, and it appeared to be just as good and sturdy as any of the others. We just decided to go with the Graco one because we already had a Graco infant seat.
Good Luck!!

I have a two year old and a 7 month old. Before I had my son I bought the Combi double stroller (side by side). It only fits the Combi car seat, but I had Peg Perego infant carrier. I didn't really mind that it did not fit in the stroller. I would just take my son our of the carrier then put him in the stroller. It worked out perfectly for us. It is an awesome stroller make sure if you do buy one get the Combi XL it has the cup holders (which is must for toddlers). It also has a very nice feature it tri-folds which is a wonderful space saver. It also has a boot for the infant so that you can place him/her in the stroller and they will not slide down. I bought ours at elitecarseats.com they have free shipping. I tested almost every stroller on the market and I am glad I purchased this one I love it.

Our kids are 22 months apart. We bought a used Graco Duo Glider for about $40 when we had the second baby. The infant carrier snaped right into it (it didn't match, but I didn't really care). We used that for about 6 months (until the baby could sit up well), then purchased a new Inglesina side-by-side, umbrella-style stroller (I think it's called a Swift, cost $179 at www.albeebaby.com, with free shipping). The Inglesina folds up incredibly small compared to the big Graco double, and it's narrower than the cheaper side-by-side doubles, so it fits nicely through a standard doorway. My husband likes the high handles (I think it was even the tallest stroller on the market when we bought it). We've cruised the neighborhood, the malls, etc. for 2 years in it, and still use it occasionally if we're going to be out long enough for my 4 yr old to get tired of walking. The seats have full recline, and recline independently, so even a small infant can ride in it. We didn't use it when the baby was tiny simply because it's soo much easier to transfer the infant carrier around.
When we first started looking at doubles, our favorite to "test drive" was the Peg Perego Aria Twin. It's super lightweight, but it's rather expensive. We couldn't find the Inglesina in stores -- we bought it based on online reviews.
We've been happy with the Swift. Only complaint is that the canopies are a pain. In 2 years they may have changed the design though. We just popped them off and left them in the garage :-). Also, the seats might be narrower than some. It has never been a problem for out skinny kiddos, but might be a complaint for kids who are built more stocky. Probably couldn't put a larger 4 yr old in it. Our 4 yr old just happens to be petite. I can't imagine my son still fitting comfortably when he's 4 :-)
I will say that considering the use we've had out of it, I wouldn't have felt bad about buying the more expensive stroller. I feel like we would have still gotten our money's worth.

Hi S.!
I purchased the Baby Trend Sit N Stand from Target. Target was a little cheaper on it than the one from Babies R Us. Plus the Baby Trend has a parent tray and the other didn't. I have really enjoyed the sit n stand. My daughter was 2 1/2 when my son was born and it worked great. His carrier could go on the front while my daughter sat on the back. Now that she is older she likes to stand on the back, and my son sits on the front. One thing about her sitting on the back, it still has straps to hold her in. She just faces me instead of looking forward. I looked at Target.com and they do still carry them for $119.
Good Luck!

I have not had my baby yet, but we bought the Jeep double stroller that works with almost all car seats for infants and has the seat in front for toddler. So far with trial runs of toddler in front and carseat in back, it works great. Walmart online has them. I lucked out and found one at a consignment shop.

I was I need of the same thing. The only one that I found that was not $400 was the Duo Glider by Graco. I found it at Babies R Us. It has worked well for what we needed. My oldest was 2 1/2 when we had our second. I wanted something for both because my oldest still rides well in the stroller. She is almost too big for it now. (one year later) but I could not have made it without it. I can't tell you how many times they were both sleeping in it.
A couple of notes:
1. We tried to use our old infant car seat that detatched and just buy a new stroller. The baby companies know that is what you want to do and change the design every 2 years or so. If it hasn't been too long take your old car seat to a children's resale shop like Kids to Kids. I have seen several double strollers there.
2. They are HEAVY. Mine weighs 40 pounds empty. But if you are used to lugging a small child on your hip half the day, it's not too bad.
3. Don't be afraid to check out Craig's list. I have seen several postings for people that bought one and barely used it and they are much cheaper that way.
Good Luck!
