Do You like Your Kia Sedona?

I am looking for ladies who own or have owned a Kia Sedona. Do you have any problems with it? Do you like it? Is it really a bigger bang for your buck? Thank you in advance :)

Thank you everyone! That's exactly what I needed! I think we'll skip the kia and go for something else. Thanks so much!

I like so many things about it... it has leather seats, back doors on both sides, bucket seats in the rear, and it is a smooth and comfortable ride. The sad part is that it has been in the shop for a good portion of the time we have owned it. The motor is a powerful one, but there just seem to be a lot of mechanical issues. It is under warranty, which has been a Godsend. However, I know that the KIA dealership has taken advantage of that fact. We bought it because I have an in-home daycare, so we wanted as safe a vehicle as possible. I wish I had better news for you! :( Please feel free to respond if you have any questions or want to know specifics.

I had a 2004 Kia Rio. Used it to get from point A to B. It didn't have all the lux's but, a good sound system and AC. I traded it in June of this year for a 2007 Kia Optima because I need a little bigger car with more airbags. I am an Licensed Caregiver. I take people to appt and such. I found that the men need more leg room. Also, the wheelchairs fit better in the back. I love that the seat goes down on either side and has a armrest that goes up or down for extra space(person. It's like having a hatchback. At this time, I am trying to get my husband to trade in the Chevy van for a Sedona. They have different models. I would like the one where the seat go into the frame work of the van. You can also request the style for extra seating in the back. I bought my Optima at the Kia Dealership located on the corner of 3rd and Everett Mall
Way. Ask for Micha and tell him I sent you if your interested in getting a Kia. Any style is good. You just have to pick the one that fit's you. Make sure you have all your car repairs done at the dealership. If you go somewhere else and they mess up then that's where the problems start. Happy Driving!

Hello J., I dont have a Kia Sedona but I do have a Kia Sephia and its pretty old but went through alot and still holding up well! Yeah it did have to go to the shop for some things but that comes with age. I think Kia's are a good car.

My mom has been driving one for about 4 years now and she's going to upgrade to a Honda Odyssey. She's had all kinds of problems with hers.

I just saw your request. I just recently bought a minivan and after looking at consumer reports, the Kia Sedona is not what I purchased. The consumer report on it are terrible. I went with a Mazda MPV.

My husband is a manager at a car dealership, and not just because they are competition, he would NEVER buy one. Not just the fact that they're not that great of a car, but they don't hold any value when you go to trade it in or sell it later. It seems like a good deal to get a brand new car for much cheaper than another brand, but when it comes to the safety and value of your family..it's worth it! We have a Ford Expedition which may be too big for you but had an Explorer that was great too, he works for Nissan now and drives a Pathfinder and those are really nice too!

We have a 2003 Sedona XL. I like ours for the most part. But here are the things I don't care for about it:
*Not a lot of leg room in front, back or middle.
*The seats weigh a TON!!! So removing them is a pain.
*Getting into the back-back is also a pain. You have to be pretty nimble to get back there.
*A year after we got it, the alternator went out on the freeway. That is something that should NEVER happen in a new car.
*The headlights are a HUGE pain to change. We ended up taking it to the dealership to have them do it. They had to take the whole casing off the front because it was easier than going through the engine compartment.
*We have another baby (#2) on the way. I wish the middle seats were bench seats. They are separate.
*There is NO space behind the back-back seats when they are in use. You won't be able to fit a normal-sized stroller there.

If you are having #3, I would really suggest a larger minivan. The warranty is great. But now, I wish we had shopped around more first. We also got TOTALLY screwed by the dealership & we're up=side-down on it now. The value really dropped!

I hope this helped! Good luck!
