My DDs 4th birthday party is coming up. This is her first party where we've invited more than just immediate family. So my question is, should she open her presents during the party or do we just set them aside and she opens them on her own after the party? We're just not sure what people are doing these days! Help!
We are having our daughter's birthday this Saturday and we are planning on opening the gifts at the party.
We do it mostly for the children, they get so excited when the birthday girl/boy opens their present, which they usually chose by themselves and are so proud to show off.

I've never been to a kid's party where they didn't open them during the party. All the kids watch and it's fun to see how excited they all get.
I have been to both and can tell you it is very disappointing to the kids to not see their gift opened....we even went to a 13 yo party that they did this and it seemed, well, more like the presents were your payment to come instead of a gift......I think the opening of the gifts is a fun part of the party.........
I went to a party and felt a little disappointed when they did not open the presents there. I wanted to know if he liked it, and my kids were all so excited about giving it to him. They all asked why he didn't open his presents. Definately open them!
