Hi moms, we are planning a trip to Orlando in mid August. I have been all over the internet searching for somewhere to stay and I was wondering if anyone had any good/bad experiences there. Also, I have considered contacting a travel agent, but I don't know if they can find any better deals than I can find on the internet. If anyone knows of someone they have used I would be interested in talking to them. We are driving, so I am just looking for a hotel or suite and park tickets.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

We just arrived back from Disney tonight. We stayed at the Yacht Club at the Club Level, and we had such a great time!! I can't wait to go back. You get a ton of perks staying on Disney property.

Tickets...The concierge at our hotel booked ours, & I know that if you buy 4 or more days then they are discounted.

I did contact a travel agent before I booked our trip, and she didn't get us any good deals.

Good luck with your trip and hope you have fun!!

M. - We went last Sept. and looked at several options before settling on the Coronado Springs Resort on the Disney property. (I think they consider that one of the moderately priced resorts, but they had a special price since it was a slower time of year.) The transportation system in the park is great and we never waited very long for the buses to and from the parks. Wherever you stay, have a great trip!!! :o)

We have always stayed at the Polynesian which is on the monorail line and a bit more pricey. It is WORTH it if you can get in. Our bookings have been a year in advance.

It is great if you have a child on a nap schedule, etc because you can grab to line to your hotel FAST.

We fly into Orlando and take a cab to the hotel and that works best for us.

Get the passes for when you check in until you check out (midnight day of check out) for best availability of parks. Pricey but worth it.

Have a great time!

We went in Aug 2 years ago, and just planned indoor show during the heat of the day and the waterpark is fun! I would stay at one of the resorts in the park. The shuttles drive you everywhere and their is the mono rail so you dont have to mess with parking and paying for parking. They also offer great packages at the hotels for the parks that meet your age groups. All the parks are nice some more than others we stayed in the sports park it was under rennovation at the time kind of a days Inn quality not what were used to but we didnt mind because we didnt lounge in the hotel we were at the parks unless we were sleeping. I found them on travelocity and booked everything with them. Have fun!
