A nice appetizer would be hummus with pita triangles or vegetables. Its easy and delicious. I don't know any kahlua drinks but I have a few suggestions that are fruity and don't have a strong liquor taste.
Washington Apple on the rocks - 1/2 oz. Crown Royale, 1 1/2 oz. Apple Pucker, splash of cranberry juice cocktail
Bay Breeze (I think) - vodka, cranberry juice cocktail, splash of pineapple juice over ice
Orange Creamsicle - orange vodka, sweet orange juice, sprite over ice

As for drinks, when my mother, my two sisters, my brother's gf, her mom and three sisters, and all of my sisters' friends and me and mine get together for girls night at the lake house, we always have a few wines, but our main drink is "buttery nipple" shots. It's just a shot that's half Buttershots and half Baileys. They're really good, but they're VERY sweet, so you may want to have some other options on hand too, like "Lemon Drops" (Absolut Limon shot with sugar on the rim, just enough sweet) "White Russians" not a shot, but a mixed drink, they are sweet, but not too sweet. They're actually my fav and they're just Kahlua, vodka and milk (I do 1/3, 1/3, and 1/3, but most bars just do one shot each of the liquor and fill the glass the rest of the way with milk.)

Have FUN! LOVE girls night!!!

Most recent mom's night out I helped plan we called it a "Black and White and Pink" party. All the moms has to wear black, white, or pink. (mix n match or all one color) Most moms dressed cute/up, cuz how often do we get to look good and clean? There were frozen margaritas and on the rocks ones. Sausage Balls(easy to make and makes baout 100, if you want recipe just ask). Plenty of sweets, chocolate etc, cupcakes. Also don't forget salty snacks... We first arrived and migled for minutes then went into a friend's dining room and played a Table Topics games, women themed questions like "do you remember your first kiss?" and "Would you rather have brains, beauty, or personality?"
So we ate and drank. Oh and I made some jello shots just for kicks, hehehe. Then after the game we had a craft, super fun and cheap and easy. Went to Wal-mart and bought cheap huge margarita glasses, one for each mom. Bought some brushes and acrylic paints then went with our theme colors of black and white and pinks. Then each mom got a glass and we sat and chatted some more and painted the glass. I actually made two and they're sitting in my kitchen. It was fun and memorable.

If you decide on a kahlua party you can find some great and easy kahlua cake recipes online..
Good Luck,
Pammy

Veggie pizza : cookie sheet, spread out Cresent rolls and bake. Mix in bowl, veggie & an onion and chives cream cheese with about 2 spoons of mayo until spreadable. Spread thick over cooked C-rolls on cookie sheet. Then add chopped veggies of your choice. I like cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots (match sticks cut up easiest). But you can use anything. Cut into small squares and place on a serving dish. Colors are pretty too. The Veggie cream cheese really makes a big difference to me.

Enjoy! Have FUN!

If you want easy to make fruity drinks that aren't too sweet, offer a bunch of vodka-based fruity martinis. You'll need the buy the corresponsing liquer to mix with the vodka, but they are tasty and not syrupy sweet. Some examples: Pomegranate (vodka and Pama liquor-my fav), ginger(Canton Ginger Liqueur), watermelon (make with watermelon puree), coffee, chocolate (creme de cacao), the options are endless. Make sure you have lemon or lime juice on hand for some recipes. All martini recipes can be found on-line.
Sangria, white or red, is also popular with the ladies. Mint mojotos too, but they are a lot of work. Otherwise, frozen margaritas or daquiries are fun, but sort of summery.
Or do a low-budget wine tasting with a large assortment of fancy cheeses, cured meats and baguette. Offer a large mixed green salad and fruit to balance all the bread and cheese.

google 'kaluha Cake'- it's a layered in a bowl recipe that includes Chocolate and kaluha. Very pretty in a clear bowl and you can make it a day or two in advance-it is actually better that way, I learned from leftovers! Gives it time to soak and marinate. OMG- your guest will be melting at the decadence!

My fall go to is a pumpkin dip recipe you can find anywhere online. It is simply canned pumpkin, cream cheese, confectioner's sugar and spices. The trick is to serve it out of a small hollowed out pumpkin, and it is really cute. Gingersnaps and graham crackers go well with it. Sure to be a hit!

Well I have a wonderful fruit tip to add to that tray, take a jar of marshmellow cream & a block of cream cheese and mix, everyone is always raving on this! It sounds plain, but it is yummy! Dress it up with some colored sugar (I usually use red or pink)- Drink wise I usually make a rum punch, it is frozen limeaide concentrate, a fruit punch, a pineapple or orange juice, sprite, light rum & dark rum with floating oranges, limes, lemons, strawberrys- whatever you want. I play around with the types of fruit and juices, it looks pretty in a punch bowl & is usually a big hit! Just taste as you make! I also make the sausage cheese balls which are a big hit,if you google Jimmy Dean or Bisquick, you should be able to find the recipe, I add extra cheese. Scallops wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce is usually a big hit, taco roll (taco meat in a circle with cresant rolls, served with salsa and sour cream), mini crab cakes are easy and eligent, just let me know if you need any of the recipes! FUN!!

Some girlfriend and I have gotten together for Martini parties and Margarita Parties. Just make a few different varieties. We've done Pomegranate, chocolate, coffee, lemon drop martinis. A box of heat and eat appetizers/hors dourves from BJ's or Sam's are elegant with martinis. Or go mexican with margaritas. Have fun!

Hi C.,

I am attaching a web link for you. I just became a Pampered Chef consultant and realized how many nice recipes they have. Here are some appetizers...
www.pamperedchef.com/our_products/recipesearch/results.jsp

As for drinks... you could do margaritas (tequila), mojiotos (rum), sangrias (wine red or white), cosmopolitans (vodka). Another easy website for drink recipes... www.webtender.com/

Good Luck!

Hi C.,

I made all of the food for a party a friend of mine was having last week & the crab dip I made was the hit of the party. It's kind of pricey, but really easy & absolutely fantastic.

2 containers fresh crab meat - I used 1 backfin & 1 lump
2-3 bricks cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. worstershire sauce
2 tsp. garlic powder
1-2 bottles cocktail sauce

Pick through crabmeat for any shells. Mix cream cheese, worstershire sauce, & garlic powder. Blend in backfin meat, adjust seasoning if needed. Spread half the mixture into shallow 9x11 dish. Sprinkle lump crabmeat & top with remaining cream cheese/crab mixture. Spread cocktail sauce over all. Serve with crackers.

For drinks, we made up a blended drink using packaged Chai mix from Starbucks (about $4.00 per container), a little bit of milk, a good bit of Bailey's and ice in the blender. Fill tall glasses & top with a little bit of Frangelico & whipped cream. Yummmmm!!!

Sounds like fun to me. A non-alcholic drink I often serve & people rave over is 2 cups sprite (or 7-up) and 1 cup each of cran-rasberry (or plain cranberry) and pineapple. The total amount of juice should equal the amount of soda. I have served it from a pitcher or from a punch bowl with rasberry sherbert. I have also added a bag of frozen assorted berries. This could come in handy for those driving, or if your older daughters will be around.

How many girlies?! Fondue is a fun option for 6 or less. One book I would recommend is Rick Rodgers, Fondue. By the way, you MUST use a dry wine, (a Sauvignon Blanc is good) whether you want to drink it or not.

Fondue is also great for a stay at home "date" with the hubby. Or with another couple. Let me know if you'd like the basic classic swiss cheese recipe.

I have a couple drink recipes that we have had recently, the first is baileys milk shakes, literally just add Bailey's to either chocolate or vanilla ice cream and blend, they're great. Also, something like an iced coffee, with no coffee. Espresso vodka, mocha Kahlua and half and half. Mix 1 shot of each alcohol with ~8 oz of milk, it should still look very white, you can over do it with the alcohol, so taste to be sure. Then shake over ice and I serve it strained, since if the ice melts, it's not as good. (both of these specialty alcohols come in smaller bottles, so you don't have to buy large quantities if you don't want to). Have fun. For food, we always have a baked brie. Buy the premade pastry puff, put a wheel of brie in it and some apricot preserves and bake it is fabulous. Here is the link: http://www.recipezaar.com/Baked-Brie-in-Puff-Pastry-with-...
