Did I Miscarry? I'm like 21 DPO Had Spotting and Now My Preg Tests Are Lighter..

I tested at about 16 DPO and got a firm yes. Had some spotting yesterday and now I'm testing very lightly pregnant. Does that mean I miscarried or am miscarrying. I'm calling my doctor as soon as the office opens in 5 minutes, but was curious what other's experienced.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'm getting blood tested today. If I'm pregnant, then I'll get tested Friday and Sunday. If the levels rise I'm good. If they drop. I'll be so sad. :(

Well, after getting bloodtested I am definitely pregnant. Now I have to go to the next 2 lab tests to make sure my levels are rising properly.

I have been told that as long as there is a line, you are pregnant, that the faintness of the line could have to do with the test, and not the HCG level. I also know of ladies that had spotting throughout their pregnancies and were watched closely. I'm not saying for sure that you are pregnant or not, doctors calls are always good, but don't panic, there may be nothing wrong. Good luck.

Congrats on the pregnancy. I have spotted with the last two...talk about worry. They say as long as it only lasts 3 days and is light they aren't worried. My second child I spotted 24 hours - this time for like 4 days....NERVE WRACKING!

I hope all stays well with you and this pregnancy!

I'm sorry to say that the only times I had spotting is when I miscarried. (4 times.....) I've heard of some women spotting or fully bleading and NOT miscarrying but I did not experience this. We do have 2 children and I'm 14 weeks pregnant again right now. But I had NO spotting at all with those 3 pregnancies.

I'd see if the doc can get you in for an ultrasound today and then you can know.

Good luck.

HPTs detect the hcg level. When there's any line, it's considered positive because the test detected an elevated hcg. So, if you test really early, the line might be faint because the test can pick it up at the earliest stage it can be detected. If you got a dark line, then a weaker one, I would think that the hcg levels had dropped. I don't know that for sure, but when I miscarried, the line was really faint. That's because the pregnancy wasn't viable and the levels never went up. That, along with the spotting would lead me to believe maybe it was a very early miscarriage. I REALLY hope I'm wrong and I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Good luck

Not trying to rain on your parade at all. Just trying to tell you some good things that may be hard to hear.... So I'm still giving you all the baby dust I have but...

I had a miscarriage last Feb. My first cycle after it I got pregnant again and that little rainbow baby is laying in my last right now.

Also with both the miscarriage and with my baby I had spotting. For that matter with little man it happened off and on till 20 weeks! So blood can mean nothing. I was told it's a 50/50 shot! So all hope is not lost!

But I'm sprinkling all the dust I can find!!

I hope this isn't the case with you but I just had a chemical pregnancy. It started out with spotting and then turned into a period along with a negative test. Feel free to read my previous post. It's a good sign that your hpt's are still positive, all my positives were faint. My thoughts are with you.
