Did Anyone Else Just Have a Horrible Day??

I normally don't use this site for this purpose, but this was just one of those days that wouldn't end. I am potty training my son (who is 3 years and 3 months old) and he went all weekend without an accident. Today, he decided he wasn't using the potty anymore. So, I spent the better part of the day cleaning up after him. My microwave nearly started a fire while I was trying to BOIL WATER! (Hubby researched the issue tonight only to find that this is a common occurrence for this model. REALLY?? And it's not recalled??) We just moved into this house a few weeks ago and it is a "fixer upper", so I have been dealing with lots of repair and maintenance issues over the past few weeks, while trying to get unpacked and keep up with the laundry, cleaning, etc. My daughter started kindergarten last week and was already home sick today (she was running a fever of 102.5 yesterday, so I took her to urgent care to check for strep...negative...must be a virus). So, I have both kids at home, one sick, one having accidents all day, a microwave trying to burn the house down AND I had a contractor here today to do some drywall work and realized that I ran out of checks, so I couldn't pay him. Hubby finally gets home and all I want is a glass of wine to unwind and as I'm opening the bottle, the cork just disintegrates. Yup....it's been that kind of day.

Oh, almost forgot...pool pump also died today.

So, anyone else have a doozy of a day??

I try to keep things in perspective since I battled breast cancer last year and not much is worse than the months I spent doing chemo and the eight surgeries I had in the past year and a half, but I'm exhausted and ready for a break and couldn't seem to catch one today. Sorry for the vent....just had to get it out.

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone! It helps to be reminded of my blessings and to get some perspective. I was just having a pity party because it was a horrible day. I also forgot to mention that my son broke his glasses yesterday too and is pretty much blind without them. The good news is that they can be replaced once for free. The bad news is that it will take 3 weeks to get them in. I have taped them back together in the meantime. LOL! I got a little rest last night (although my son woke up twice) and he had a better day on the potty today. I got my daughter in to see the pediatrician and she has a double ear infection (even though I had taken her to the urgent care on Sunday when she was running a fever of 102.5 and complaining of a sore throat and her ears hurting and they said she had a virus...nice!), but now that she is on antibiotics, she can go back to school tomorrow. I feel bad that she is in kinder and has only been one week and now has missed two days already. So much for perfect attendance! Such is life I suppose. Anyway, a better day today, for sure. Thanks for letting me vent!

I have had one of the WORST days of my life. It was so bad, I don't even want to write out what happened. I am just so thankful that my days are normally great and I am a half/full person---so I look out on the positive. But I got some extremely heavy, life-changing, horrible news today. That at this point right now, I can't handle it. I can't talk about it, cry about it or anything else. I am shell-shocked. Hope everyone's days get a whole lot better!!!

At least tomorrow is a NEW DAY.~

Think of it this way:
You have a son.
You have a microwave to boil clean water.
You had the means to get medical care for your kids.
You couldn't pay the contractor because you were out of checks, not out of money.
You have a pool in your yard.
I think you're ahead of about 90% of the world population! LOL
Seriously, it's like that sometimes! I feel ya. Cheers to a better tomorrow!

But the bottle of wine is open, right? Just find your strainer and have a glass. :)

I am sorry...I had a crummy day too.
I was super excited to get home, because I just Knew my dinner was going to be awesome ( I have made it before and it is a Tried and True crock pot recipe) only to open the door to a disgusting burnt food smell and my dinner burnt to a crisp...it was on low all day, no idea what went wrong.
I had a cleaning job t go to after work and my teenage son had promised me a dozen times I could count on him, and he was not here when I got home, so I had to leave my 4 year old with the 10 year old ( dad is in the house sleeping because he works night shifts)
By the way....teenage son is still not home, and we have been having issues.
I have a biter in my class of 3 year olds, and I do not want to stress the mom of the biter out by telling her because I already know she has so much on her plate right now.
I made my 10 yr old burst into tears before I left for my cleaning job when it was not her I was upset with at all...
YUP it has been a terrible day and all I can say is tomorrow has to be better!

You hit the nail on the head at the last. Your children have their mother thank god. In exchange the universe gets to really screw with you now and then! But at least it's over sweetie. Hope yor next one is just as good as this one was bad. Corny saying... If it never rained we wouldn't get to play in the puddles. Now I challenge you to name at least one special or easy moment about today. We are pulling for you! Go V.! :)

Paper cuts hurt WAY more and are far more ANNOYING than gunshots (from someone else who has had big stuff lately).

I had one of those days yesterday.
