I need a weekend overnight babysitter for mainly saturday nights and occassionally fridays. I have a hard time getting my friends and even family to commit to helping out sometimes. This isn't every weekend just on an occassional basis!!!!! I only have one child that is 14 mths old. Please help!
Here, we have a major university. One of the PhD programs actually generates a volunteer spreadsheet that lists if the person has transportation, CPR trained and their expected wages. Try that out! I ended up with a Big Ten varsity swimmer on the dean's list...Also, any school that has an elementary ed program or such may be able to give you names of students looking for hands on research!
How about pooling together with another mom: one weekend you take her kid for the weekend, another weekend she takes yours. That way your child also gets a built-in play mate.
I recommend looking at care.com or sittercity.com for a sitter that fits your needs.
call your local park district and church....they actually train kids sometimes to babysit
If your child goes to daycare, ask one of the other providers who is fond of your child if they know someone or if they will. Usually the lead teacher won't cause she already sees your kid all the time, but they may know someone. Usually this person will be the floater person, who is a young girl who doesnt have kids of her own.
