My wonderful husband is with our 1 year old daughter during the day and is searching for ideas of where to bring her for social activities. He's already found the library reading time, and Super Frank's in Pleasanton but would like any other ideas if you have them. Preferably something that isn't going to cost too much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I love the San Ramon pool. There are 3 different pools, one with a diving board and lap swim, one for regular swim and with bumper boats, but my favorite is the one that has playground in it. There is a section that is even shallower that you will see many parents playing with their babies in. Just a fun place to go that she can continue to go to as she grows up. My girls are now 7 and 8 and love the playground in the pool as they are learning how to swim. There favorite is the slide that goes into about 1 foot of water.

Good luck!

There are wonderful parenting classes at the Laurel Center through Hayward Adult Education, the Castro Valley Community Center Park has a great tot lot, and the San Leandro Swim Center has a great tot play area. It's a great area for kid stuff! Have fun :)

Your husband should also come and try a free Gymboree Play and Music class. We have Dads that come and join us on a regular basis. If he decides to join after previewing the class, he is also able to come to 3 PlayGyms (open play for enrolled members) per week in addition to his regular class. We also have specials running throughout July and August that increase the value of the classes. You can view our website at www.gymboreeclasses.com. If he has questions about the Oakland site, the email is ____@____.com.

Enjoy the parenthood adventure!

Hello!

I am also on the same boat. I am not sure how much Oakland Zoo memberships are, but with the nice weather we're going to look into that.

I love Studio Grow in Berkeley. It's reasonably priced, and you get unlimited time in this indoor baby gym with endless activities, music time, story time, parachute time, etc.
They are good about having ways to save money on admission, like I think they currently have a card that adults are free.

Hope this helps, have fun!
