Hi there,
I am having a cycle every 18/19 days for the past 3 months and wanted to know if this seemed normal. I have recently been taking supplements and changed my diet and this is when my cycly went from 28 days to 19. Many thanks, angel36532

So What Happened?

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that my docter said I was losing eggs and she sees just as many skipped periods as frequent periods (as in my case). She said it would probably straighten out and then go back to the frequent cycles again. Thanks so much for all the feed back! A.

Glad you are going to the doctor. Each woman is different as are their experiences. "Normal" to one may be "Abnormal" to another. Wishing you the best, DHM

Hey... I just talked to my dr last month due to heaving cycles the last couple of months. Also noticed that my cycles have become closer too. Well.. guess what?? Its age!!! I have been trying to get preg for over 2 yrs and was recently preg but miscarred in the 8th week a few months back. Also I have always had short cycles where I could count every 21 days to the day that I would start, give or take a day or two. And in the last couple of months that I have started to begin my cycles earlier.
End result.. the Dr said that when women get older that its normal to have shorter and heavier cycles. I thought to myself great!!! Not only am I unable to get preg again I have the thrill of heaver cycles! I mean HEAVY!!! Where I cant even leave the house longer than an hour for fear of bleed thrus!
Sorry this was long... just wanted you to know that it is quite normal. And that according to my Dr that is just 'one of those things' that happen to women when they get older.

Oh.. ps.. I'll be 42 in April. Lovely.. huh???
And men have said that women are the weaker sex.. yeah right! I'd like them to bleed for 5 or more days and walk around w/ a lump inbetween their legs and have a smile on their face!!! hahaha

Best of luck and I agree its always safe to consult your ob dr just to be safe.

It is a possible that you are going into menopause, but I don't think a cycle (at any point) begining 18/19 days apart is "normal". I would definately contact your gyn, family practice, or whoever you use for your female issues. Giving them a call can't hurt.

Take care,
God Bless,

I do know that the closer you get to menopause the more eggs are released from your ovaries with each ovulation. I'm not sure if you ovulate more. This definately sounds like its a hormone thing. Diet and exercise can also change the length of your cycle but it will usually steady itself out in a couple of months. I would ask my doctor to check my hormone levels at your next appt. oh... and be sure to eat plenty of protein and iron since you are losing more blood.... you don't want to get anemic. :)

I think when I asked the Dr. about this he told me something like 24-46 days between cycle is normal. You should probably call your doctor, but I don't think 18/19 is normal.

I'm not quite 40 yet I'm in the beginning stages of peri-menopause and one of symptoms is that my cycle was becoming more frequent and heavier. I know most women start having less, but the opposite can take place. Of course, the biggest thing is the hot flashes/headaches, but there are tons of symptoms that go with it. You might want to check out one of the sites for menopause out there and of course talk to your doctor.

Best of luck!
