Cutest Pic for Photo Contest

I did and I thought it was a waste because while you need to solicit friends and family to vote...you or they could vote multiple times if you moved from computer to computer. Not fair in my opinion. If you want to do this sort of thing, look for where you can only submit one vote per entry or a contest where it is judged by judges only. Otherwise, someone who has access to multiple computers, laptops, netbook, Ipad could vote several times for the same photo...in a day.

Do NOT enter in to any photo contests unless you are willing to lose the rights to the photograph whether you win the contest or not. Most contests are designed to get free photos. The wording can be tricky and even hidden in lots of fine print. I know because I am a professional photographer. Its great you have a wonderful photo of your daughter, put it in a frame and enjoy it.

I don't have an answer for you (sorry) but I'm glad you asked the question.
I have a really good picture of my daughter at the beach that looks like it could be on the cover of a magazine and I've been wondering if I could enter it into some kind of contest or something. But I've done internet searches as well and can't find ones that are legit. So, I will definately be watching your answers.

Do you have a local fair?
We have a photography exhibit at our fair. And amateur photographers can submit photos to be on display. They are voted on by fair judges and awarded ribbons and such.

I think it depends on why you want to enter the photo!

Do you want to win a prize, like $$?
Do you want to build your reputation as a photographer?
Do you just want people to see how cute your child is?

Make sure if you submit it for publication either on for print or online, that they only identify your DD by first name and no town, for security purposes.
