Coupon Site Recommendation

If you have a group of moms that are interested in buying the same items, some stores will let you buy in bulk, letting you split the difference between everyone in the group. www.retailmenot.com is a good website for retailers though. Yes, you definitely have to shop around, I often find Jewel and Dominick's are much higher in produce and frozen fruits and veggies, where I can go do a produce store and get it organic and cheaper! For example, organic frozen spinach at Trader Joe's is $1.09, where at Dominick's it is $1.39 for non-organic (and organic spinach is healither for you and on the dirty dozen list)...It is also cheaper (and healthier) to make homemade dressings, chili mixes, rices, pasta sauces (instead of premade rice, pasta mixes) etc than to buy it in the store.

There is a lady who goes to a lot of the local libraries and does a couponing class, her name is Jill Cataldo. Her website is www.supercouponing.com She tells you how to match up coupons with the in-store specials at Jewel and Walgreens, target, walmart etc. there is a website that I have been using for online shopping etc. and you can print coupons from there and earn points to purchase free gift cards, it is www.mypoints.com
also, if you buy products from pillsbury, betty crocker etc. you can to to their websites and sign up for emails etc. they will send you coupons too!
If you have a jewel card(if you don't, you should) go to the jewel osco website and sign into the avenu page. this will give you specialized coupons, as well as in-store specials. The avenu special coupons are good for the day that you sign in to look at them, or you can extend them, by clicking on a link. It takes some organization, but you can save over $100 per trip by combining all of the coupons with the preferred card and advertised specials, plus get the $5 catalina saving coupons at the end!!! it is a new challenge each week.

Valpak and Smart Source are great ones to coordinate with the sales in the paper. It usually is about 3 weeks until you will see them but start clipping now and then watch your local store ads for what products go on sale.

The Grocery Game is a great site but you do have to pay for it. I got a few tips from it and used to do it on my own, although it is time consuming so it did not last too long with a young baby at the time!

Check your local library as some of them have coupons in a huge file system type thing. I miss that out here but I know a friend of mine who lives near you has that at her library.

Oh yeah, just cuz a coupon expired does not mean a store will not take it. I would say about 90% of the time I have been able to use expired coupons. Also, the coupons you get from like Walgreens- those are mfg coupons and can actually be used anywhere. Just make sure it does not say it can only be redeemed at Walgreens or Jewel or where ever.

Just do a Google Seach for online printable coupons, you will get a bazillion choices. Some you have to sign up for, some you have to download the program to print it etc... I have several that I have in the past downloaded with no problems at all!

Also, make sure you are not using coupons just to save money but it is things that you will actually eat! I do not know how much money I have wasted in the past trying to use coupons but have absolutely no desire to eat the thing we bought!

One last tidbit of info that I have learned! Sometimes it is worth it to drive further to go to a different store. I drive 45 mins to go to Woodmans and Caputos. I have a Dominicks, Jewel, Aldis and Super Walmart all closer but have found the best savings at those 2 stores. Only bad thing... Woodmans will not let me use printed coupons from the computer and Caputos is only cheaper if I am buying sale items! Know your prices between stores too! That helps a ton! Super Walmart charges $3.75 (last I saw) for a Red Baron Pizza where Woodmans charges $3.25 and Jewel is even higher!

Not sure about coupon sites.. but like one lady mentioned, sometimes you get stuff at Trader Joe's for a lot cheaper than you do at Dominicks or Jewel. Also, I never buy fruits/veges and deli cheese/meats at Jewel or Dominicks - WAAAY to expensive and the produce quality is really not very good. I usually shop for those things at local produce stores. Many mexican produce stores are great options. You can find them in little strip malls. I see that You are in Plainfield. If you can make it to Rt 59 in Naperville, there is a michael's fresh market for produce that is supposed to be excellent
