So i am really confused!! The first day of my last period was Sept 22, and my cycles are normally 24 days. Conception was probably Oct 8, and I got a positive pregnancy test on Oct 20... ok so with that I should be about 7 plus weeks pregnant. Well I started spotting Sunday and then last night it got worse so my Dr got me in to have an ultrasound today and they said that there was a sack, but no baby and it was not implanted... He said I was only about 5 weeks along and that it could still implant and they will repeat the scan next week to see if implants. THe nurse said it was still possible to have a baby, but everything I read says it implants before you get a positive pregnancy test... So what does thhat mean? It makes me worried and I was surprised to find out i was pregnant but really don't want to lose it now and just feel so helpless for a whole week! any advice or words will help, thanks.

What can I do next?

Sounds JUST like my BFF last year... they told her to come back in a week and made it seem like all was good. We all tried to stay upbeat because she had been trying for 2 years at that point.
But in the end the baby was never there. They called it a blighted ovum... She had to have a DNC :(
BUT as of today she is 12 weeks prego and everthing is GREAT! So don't give up hope even if this doesn't turn out well! Just keep trying!!!

Have they raised the possibility of a molar pregnancy? There will be a sack but no baby. Or sometimes, the woman will begin to show, go for a sonogram and find out that what's growing in her uterus is not even human. This is very rare but does happen.
If this is a miscarriage I am sorry. I've had two miscarriages (at 10 and 16 weeks) and a tubal pregnancy that they thought was also a molar pregnancy since the surgeon did not find a baby in the tube - just a sack and the placenta. Best wishes to you.

A few friends of mine and myself had all had this. I've heard it called a hormonal pregnancy. Where something happens the first few weeks to where the baby isn't viable, but the body produces the hormones past that point. I'm sorry you have to wait a whole week. Waiting is the hardest thing. I hope the week goes by quickly for you.

Maybe it was implanted (even maybe a "tubal" pregnancy), and your body realized it wasn't viable, so it is trying to get rid of it. That would make you have the spotting, and would make it show as not implanted if it's on its way out.

I just wanted to tell you that I went through infertility treaments when I got pregnant. So we really knew our dates. I started bleeding and went into have an ultra sound and they changed my due date because the baby was measuring smaller.
My u/s showed a heart beat so the prognosis was different for me but I wanted to share that the dates can be off even when you are sure of them. I know this is an extremely hard time. I hope everything turns out for you.
