Comments on Eddie Bauer Wood High Chair

Does anyone have this high chair and if so, is it any good? I was getting ready to order it online (offered only online at the two stores I found it in) and I read two negative reviews on it saying that it is uncomfortable, baby hits head on wood frame, cushioning doesn't cover wood frame completely. It is a good looking high chair and would match my house nicely, which is why I like it and what one of the reviewers said she bought it for the same reason. Please let me know what you think. I'd hate to spead $120 on a high chair and then be disappointed with it.

What can I do next?

I also have this high chair and I loved it because of how it looks. The padded cover fits on great and is easy to remove and wash. The only problem I've had with it is that there are a lot of crevices for food to get into and it becomes a little difficult to get it clean. Overall though, I would probably buy it again, only in the cherry color which it now comes in :)

Hello!

I have the chair - my daughter is 29 months. We love it. The reason we bought it was because of the look, but she's never been uncomfortable. It's very sturdy and cleans up easily.

We got it for the same reason. We really like ours and would probably buy it again. It certainly doesn't have all the bells and whistles but we really don't need anything else. The cushions are fine (and washable) and I love the 2-tray system. The seat doesn't adjust but we didn't find that to be a problem. One thing I wished it had though were wheels on the bottom.

Hey K.:
I have LOVED mine. We have a small glass top kitchen set that was so tiney we really liked having the wooden high chair to pull up next to it so we could include our son next to the table. He is a VERY tall 3 1/2 now so we just have him sitting in a chair at the table. Would you like to buy a gently used Eddie Bauer? It's so nice I hate for it to go to waste and we spent the full price so I'd like to consign it. E-mail me directly if so.
Thanks,
S.

This sounds like the high chair we have. We haven't had any problems with it: our son has never had issues with hitting his head on the wood frame. If it is the same model, we actually found it on sale for around $100 at Babies 'R Us, so look around before you buy it full price. It is expensive, but we like the "furniture-y" look to it as you mentioned, and we have loved it!

I have one. I bought it on clearance at Target when I was pregnant because it matched my kitchen perfectly, and because my friend had one for her boys and loved it. It has worked fine for us. I agree, the pad doesnt cover the entire thing, and could probably be thicker and more cushioned, but my daughter seems fine with it. Honestly though, if I had to choose now that I have used this one, I would probably go with something different. There are so many great super comfy looking high chairs out there that may not match my kitchen, but would cushion my baby a little more than this one.

I have the high chair, and it's worked out just fine for us. Our son has had many happy meals in it, and it looks great in the house. It is very attractive.
now that he's 15 months, he has hit the back of his head on it, but only because he's starting to throw some tantrums, and head tossing is one of hte things he does. But even when he's throwing his head around, he doesn't hurt himself.

K.,
Check out consignment shops in your area first. I work at one, and quite often, we get baby gear that is in fantastic shape. In fact, we have an Eddie Bauer high chair in now! Not sure if it's the same one you're looking at but you certainly can put your child in it and see for yourself if it's a good fit. (Does Toys R Us have high chairs on display? You might be able to do it there, too.)

I work at Back on the Rack in Dover (DE) near Carroll's Corner Shopping Center.

We skipped the high chair and got a booster seat, which will last until our son can sit at the table on a regular chair. I couldn't see the money on a highchair that is going to take up a ton of space and then in a year having to buy a booster seat. Plus, the booster seat was only $30, is portable, can be put away when not needed and can be put in the bathtub to be wiped off (which is needed quite often!)

Hi -- We have it and like it. Our daughter never hit her head, but she is (was) really tall. Maybe shorter kids don't fit as well in it.

have you looked at the high charis that fit inside your regular chairs, we use this and once my child was old enough to take away the tray i just had to push him up to the table a little more.

this made him feel more part of the family.

babiesru sell the kids first brand that fits inside a chair and you can tilt it if you need too.

I have had this high chair for 5 yrs now and have used it for both of my boys (5 & 2)and children I've watched over the yrs. I plan on using it for my daughter (4mos). It is easy to use and not too big for my smaller home. The pad is easily removed and washes great. I bought it at Babies r Us. Good Luck.
