Our first weekend without a million things to do and I cought a freakin' cold. I always want to eat and drink hot stuff when I'm sick because it feels good on my throat.

So what do you eat or drink when you feel crappy?

What can I do next?

Cup of Noodles. I know it's full of sodium and processed to within an inch of its life, but I love it when I have a cold.

To balance it out, I'll drink Naked Juice's Mega C juice.

I'm home today too with a big honkin chest cold. I already have Rx's of many varieties from a doc apt Saturday morning -and I'm beginning to feel a little better but I was up til 3 last night coughin. My chest wall aches from coughing and the cough medicine was only marginally helpful.

Mint tea is wonderful on the chest and throat - I can inhale the minty vapors while I drink it. And I plan on soup later in the day. I have some pregresso gumbo in the cabinet. I know it's not the real thing but since they are no cajun restaurants within a 10 min drive from home the canned version will have to do!

Feel better!

For whatever reason, when I feel gross, a good ol' baked potato with nothing but a little butter/salt& pepper makes me feel better.

I suck on frozen Milk Duds. They coat my throat and they taste good so my saliva is going good. No dry mouth.

Scrambled eggs and toast, ginger ale or ginger tea (made with fresh ginger), and crackers. That's about all I can deal with when I don't feel well. Chamomile tea is good, too. I hope you feel better soon.

Gingerale, saltines, and homemade chicken soup even when it's not a stomach thing.

Wish I could bring to a pot!

Grilled cheese sandwiches! Don't know why, but I have always craved them when I get sick.

If you have a sore throat, the following is fabulous (if calorie laden):
Hot milk with honey and butter (proportions are such that it tastes really good).

For an adult you can add a little whiskey or bourbon and sleep will come!
