I had someone tell me about a farm where you go and cut down your own tree. They have a hayride that you out on to get to the trees and apple cideer and hot choclate. I thought I was told it was around Sherman/Denison area, but can't remember for sure.
Anyone know of some place like this or something more fun than just going to buy a chopped down tree somewhere.

I don't know where one is around here, but I wanted to say that you'll have a GREAT time! My family did this when I was about 8 years old; I've got some wonderful memories. I'm sure your family will, too!

A good friend of mine just told me about this place - It's called Elves Christmas Tree Farm. She RAVED about it. I am not sure of the exact location but she said it was about an hour North towards OK, so that would be about right. I would try to Google it...Good luck - We plan on trying to track it down ourselves!

We've gone to the Ivanhoe Christmas Tree Farm for many years....it's near Bonham. There's a hayride to the trees....hot chocolate/cider at the little gift shop while you wait for them to tie up the tree. That might be the one you're thinking of.
cute place....usually good selection if you go the day after thanksgiving. don't wait!
