Hello Moms,
I am looking for a therapist to work with me and my 4 year old on some anxiety and anger issues. It has been very challenging to find someone who will work with a child that young. Does anyone have any suggestions of a therapist they have worked with or heard good things about?
I am located in Massachusetts, I would love someone on the South Shore, but the Boston area/North Shore is fine. I am more concerned with finding someone good.
I have spoken with my ped's office, they made some suggestions that are not a good fit for us. My health insurance company has a list of doctors, but I am hoping to find someone who has a recommendation of someone they know.

Not sure if you have health insurance if you do start there. There are usually a network of providers and you won't really have to pay out of pocket. Speak with your pediatrician they are guaranteed to have a list of therapist that you can work with.
Talk to your Pediatrician or call the school district he will attend and ask for a referral. You may need to talk to someone in the guidance dept of the elementary school he will attend, no reason to identiify yourself. Good luck with this Mom, you are a good Mom for chking into this for your child. I hope things get better for him/her.
Try calling local UMass psychology department or BU psychology department. Ask for recommendations, suggestions there.
