Child Keeps Knocking Tooth Loose

My 4 year old son keeps hitting his mouth on swings etc on the playground at daycare. Unfortunately this has knocked one of his front teeth loose. This first happened about a month ago and the tooth was almost firmed up when he hit it again and knocked it loose again along with the tooth beside it. I don't know what to do to get him to be more careful and let his teeth heal. His dentist told us he has short roots on these two baby teeth (probably from when he fell on some steps and hit his mouth at when he was younger) so one more good hit and i'm afraid one will fall out. I really don't want him to have a gap in his teeth for the next 3 years until his permanent ones grow in.

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

What does his dentist say?

My son bumped his front tooth REALLY hard and a few years later it had to be pulled. So keep an eye on those teeth and make sure to let the dentist know he's had trauma to them.
If the roots were "short" they were probably being pushed out by the new tooth anyway. I can tell you from experience that baby tooth roots are LONG when they haven't been bumped out by the new tooth coming in.

Keep him OFF the equipment! If I were his daycare provider, no way would I want to take responsibility for that.

lol. I've sooo been there done that with my now 6 year old. She'd even bumped her tooth on one of the posts on our patio. Last summer we had to make a trip to the dentist the day after her dental check up because she fell and hit her tooth at day care. I was sure she would be toothless for years before her big teeth came it. They did tighten up everytime and her roots were shortened because of the trauma. She's currently missing all 4 front teeth (all fell out naturally). The one tooth that she'd bumped the most was the last of the four to fall out.

Get him a helmet with a face guard to wear while outside playing. It wont stop everything from happening to him but at least when he is outside being rough and tumble, it might.

Maybe his teeth are going to come out early. My daughter's friend lost her 4 front teeth before she was 5 years old.
