Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any good Halloween craft ideas for a group of 12 Girl Scouts? It can't cost us to much money and not to complicated since there are 12 of them. There are millions of websites with craft ideas but I thought I'd ask here too just in case you have one that you really love. The girls are 9 and 10 years old.

Thank You!!

Black pipe cleaners, black puff balls, googly eyes. Ingredients for spiders! They're super easy, and everyone can make theirs look however they think it should. I have no idea what age group you're talking about, but the spiders are definitely super easy. If *I* can do it, surely the GS can.... :)

See if your local farm stand will donate some pumpkins. Pumpkins with one dirty or dented side can still make a great decoration if you put the "bad" side toward the house. Or, paint over the blemish. Painting is much easier than carving. Use cheap things from the dollar store: for example, use eye-patch party favors to create a pirate-style one-eyed pumpkin. Use a stray earring without its mate on one side and a cheap kerchief for the head covering. Sometimes fabric stores will donate the very end of their fabric bolts, or at least sell them dirt cheap. Look on the remnant table.

Cut black construction paper "bats" - use a pattern from an existing bat (or use a magazine photo) and fold the paper in half, cut out the shape, and unfold for a perfectly symmetrical cut-out. You can put eyes on with a silver or white gel pen. They look great in the little sidelight windows next to a lot of people's front doors.

Roasted pumpkin seeds.

Oriental Trading has a lot of kits for cheap.

You can decorate paper plates to look like pumpkins or masks. You can use tissue paper to decorate bags with cut outs and put electric candles in them. You can make slime (recipes online). Or make "dirt" with Oreos and pudding and gummy worms.

Toilet Paper Pumpkins

Roll of toilet paper
Orange plastic tablecloth
Thin stick or twig
Green ribbon

Cut tablecloth into circles large enough to place the toilet paper roll in the middle and tuck the edges into the middle of the roll. Stick the twig in the middle and it'll look like a pumpkin with a stem. Tie the ribbon around the top of the twig for "leaves".

Cheap and easy! And reaally cute!

I used to make ghost out of white small kitchen garbage bags and hang them in the tree in our front yard. I would stuff the corner of a small white kitchen garbage bag with the plastic bags you get in the grocery store. Use a twist tie to hold the head in place. Draw on two eyes with black marker and shred the bottom of the bag.

At Micheal's you can buy a wooden cut out of a pumpkin. Let the girls paint and decorate them.

You could always buy small pumpkins and have the girls decorate them. They don't need to be carved.
