Hey Mommas!

I really need your help. I am wanting to go back to school for Certified Nursing Assistant. I am not wanting to go to a college cause I don't want to take the extra courses that I really don't need. I have been wanting to do this for awhile. My passions are to help others, make a difference. I love working with kids, special needs and elders.

Any ideas in the Carrollton, Lewisville, Denton, Plano, Coppell, Dallas area would be great. Thanks so much.

What can I do next?

I received my CNA license through NCTC college in Corinth. It was around $800 for a 2.5 month course and this included testing and clinicals. Also, always look in the job section of the newspaper under CNA. A lot of nursing homes offer a condensed 2 week course for free. I currently work and Good Samaritan Home Health and love it. PM me if you need any more information.

Have you contacted some of the junior colleges around? They probably have programs aimed for just that where you don't take extra classes... also try hospitals, they also do stuff like that.
I would assume most programs are 1 year long if not a bit longer... I know in high school (Illinois) I took a class that in the end was a CNA. It was all year long to finish... I never used it, changed fields. Best of luck to you!

I went to the nurses aid academy in Dallas some years ago. The class does not require any additional course work. It's located minutes away from the north west center mall.
